im beginning to think Larry Merchant was fired.

To be fair I think Kellerman has a pretty balanced view compared to Lampley - watch Pac-Marquez III he was very much contradicting the general opinions saying that he wouldn't be surprised if Marquez got the decision or won some of the closer rounds...

 

^No doubt, I'm one of the few who enjoy Max here on the forum.
(But Max's flaw is he forget's sometimes that he can't be a fan)
^at least not openly when your job is to be bias.

But the guy knows his ****, He studies the past & understands the fight game.
He is a great replacement for Merchant, He even has his final thought segment after the fight like Larry.

 

Lampley back in the day definitely viewed the forums(Don't know if he did this one in particular). I doubt Max does though.

 

I agree that it shouldn't be that way but Floyd's PPVs generate a lot of money for HBO.

When Pac got Ko'ed, his days as the Arum ass kissing Floyd hater came to an end.

both he and lampley are terrible and i dont think either have ever been in a fight. rogan and jones jr. are far superior in every aspect of commentating.

merchant saying that he would kick mayweathers ass was grounds for immediate dismissal.

 

Ya HBO wanted him out. He wasn't making sense half the time which I kind of found entertaining (i know that sounds awful but it is true).

Watch the Pac-Marquez fight and listen to him in the later rounds (4-6) and he starts to make some comment 'the king of drama is making drama, and blood equals drama, and drama is blood....) and then he tails off and doesn't even finish his sentence.

 

Pretty clear he was fired for incompetence.

 

Merchant is terrible now.
