khans all of 24 years old.....when floyd was 24 years old he was having was fighting in less than 2000 seat venues and not filling them up...see castillo 1 fight...it was half empty....
alot of them love the chocolate. They secretly do it all the time. P.a.kistani women love them some BBC. im not talkin bout the channel either! :deal
I agree. Khan is more known to the average beer swigging joe and their grandma because of the olympics. But Floyd is much more liked and more fans hardcore and casual generally like him. So in a nutshell he is more popular. P.s doint let laz see that you have agree. :good
If mayweather fought Khan in the UK, Mayweather would have thousands cheering him on. Mayweather has nuff fans over here!!
He would do more ppv buys is what he's sayin...he is a bigger name...world wide over khan as well as in the uk.
This is not an even comparison. Mayweather has been p4p best fighter for many years while Khan is still in early phase of his career. Mayweather vs Hatton PPV in UK is a testament of Hatton's popularity in UK. Khan hasn't had the career defining fight, for Mayweather it was ODLH that made him the PPV star. And another point, regardless of who Khan fights, his opponent will always be 'bigger' in terms of support in the UK, most of his country men want to see Khan knocked out again.
Floyd is usually so fake in front of the camera, but there is one video where he talks about his UK fanbase where he actually seems oddly genuine and both surprised and touched by the reception he was apparently given when he came here: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHfk8s7L3bY[/ame] It's a shame when you watch videos like this and then when you watch his behaviour at other points, such as the recent exchange with Merchant. As for Khan, he was very popular during the Olympics, but when he turned professional there was suddenly more animosity toward him. After the Prescott loss his detractors were out in full force (there was a lot of racist rubbish on Youtube, too). Even I didn't think he would ever be a world champion due to his chin and lack of defence...but I was happy to be proven wrong. At this point in time he's actually not as popular as you might expect, probably due to the way he now trains and fights in America, and his recent row with Sky means that his fights are shown on a more obscure channel.
Mayweather probably gets loads of fan mail from the UK and loads of support up on twitter etc and thats why he believes he has bigger fanbase than Khan.
Its more about disliking for Khan than liking for Mayweather. Replace the name Mayweather with any other fighter and your statement still holds.
Yes but the difference is while there are plenty who just wanna see Khan lose the difference with mayweather he will actually have fans who are there to see him win as they genuinly support floyd rather than dislike Khan.
Nobody cares about Mayweather in England unless he is fighting an English fighter and even then they wouldn't even have a clue who he is judging by the many English imbeciles backing a garbage nothing fighter like Hatton to beat him, the bookies had a field day. Mayweather against the **** nothing fighter Ortiz will not have got even 50'000 buys on prime time in England and thats even with it only costing about $20.
