What was Trout? Chopped liver?!! Yes. Floyd beats him up, but Trout was a good, clear win for Canelo who hadn't fought anyone dangerous.

Lot of people gave him **** for that, myself included. So good for him. Let him have his little moment in the sun, now that he's finally earned some of it.

He'll probably fight Cotto next. Smaller risk, bigger money. After that?

Maybe he'll step up and get his ass kicked by the best(?). Maybe by that time he'll have improved more and be more of a challenge for Floyd...which means Floyd probably won't fight him...hate this part of the equation... :blood

Exactly WTF did Alvarez do? I saw him leading with WILD right hands and catching nothing but air ALL night. Alvarez spent the majority of the fight following Trout around the ring and catching punches with his face...

To be fair, there is much more of Chavez Sr. in Canelo than in Chavez Jr.

    (in my opinion)

Look, you clearly seem on a mission to underrate Trout and act like he's a skilless bum. Canelo neutralizing or dodging a lot of Trout's shots doesn't mean that he hasn't thrown them before. Against Cotto he threw a wide variety of punches. Cotto was smaller but it still takes great skill to do what he did. Have you ever boxed? You might be able to visibly recognize what it takes to accomplish what he did.

Trout threw a good number of straight lefts to the head and body and a few key counter-right hooks. Trout's jab was sometimes lazy, sometimes stiff, but it was quick and allowed him to control the pace in many rounds.

Trout isn't an ATG or anything like that but he's not just an average fighter. He's one of the best at 154. He's a championship-level fighter. Give Trout credit and give Canelo credit for beating him fair and square.

Well not elite in terms of pound for pound status, but they are near the top of 154. Whether they continue to improve remains to be seen.

Meaningless? It's the main criteria for scoring a fight you dumb ****. Clean, effective punches. Your ring generalship is useless if you get hit. Your aggression is useless if you miss. That's what Trout did in a majority of rounds, at least 6, where Canelo did the better work.

Being outboxed means being hit with more quality punches, not being out-postured for ****s sake.
