    Two things.

Mayweather/Baldomir made more than Pac/Morales because of Baldomir.

Mayweather/Marquez made FAR more than Pac/Marquez and nearly the same as Pac/DLH because of Marquez.

    Have a good day.

I really think these numbers are exageratted ...Mayweather's following is not that big and since when was Marquez a big ppv draw ..Im sure the actual numbers will come out eventually ..

With Oscar yeah it made sense but with Marqurez :huh Im not buying it ..

So this fight was as big as Trinidad /Oscar nah don't think so ..

This isn't UFC, they can't lie even if they tried to.

If so they would have lied about Pac/Hatton, Pac/DLH and Hopkins/Pavlik PPVs.

Mayweather/DLH proved to be bigger and FAR bigger than Trinidad/DLH, Tyson/Lewis and Tyson/Holyfield.

LOL your kidding me right? You ever heard of Bob Arum ?? Informous for inflating PPV numbers ..

No I agree that MW/Delahoya was bigger than the Tito fight but I find it hard to beleive that MW/Marquez was on the same level ..

I'm only sharing what I've read tho fight promotions expenses is not really our concerns:

"The main sponsors of the Mayweather-Marquez card have been carefully chosen to hit specific target audiences. Affliction Clothing is popular among young men, Quaker State motor oil and Dewalt tools appeal to blue-collar workers. Tecate beer is popular among Hispanics, and AT&T and Southwest Airlines help to target mainstream sports fans.

Golden Boy and HBO are spending about $20 million to market the broadcast, which officials at both companies hope serves as a blueprint for future megafights.

It's a big gamble in what is undoubtedly big business."

With 1 million PPV buys, it translates to $50 million gross PPV sales... Deduct $20 million fight promotions expenses, they still have a handsome $30 million Benjamins...

HBO has shareholders and is a public company unlike UFC which is private....bob arum lied about the pac numbers by word of mouth.... but when the numbers were released it was factual....if anything i question the UFC numbers....first it was reported to 400,000 then 450,000.....and we havent heard a peep out of dana white since he was so vocal last week, trashing floyd and saying marquez was a "no name".....actions speak louder then words.....

Here's another news article mentioning that $20 million Floyd-JMM mismatch fight promotions expenses:

"While the UFC is all over the small screens, Mayweather and Golden Boy went to the big screens, putting the fight in 170 movie theaters on closed circuit around the country, with prices from $12.50 to $15. The promoters and HBO have spent $20 million promoting the bout, including an effort to raise awareness of the fight with Mayweather's fans through social networking sites."

Huh? :huh Floyd fans used facebook, friendster, etc. :D

You've got to be a freakin moran buxzer......you kept on saying that the fight would do crap in PPV sales.....I think you said less than 400k :rofl:rofl:rofl

.....I said all along it would surpass what Pacquiao-Hatton did in the US.....

......and GBP did invest 20 million in the promotion....let me break it down for you numbskull....

    15 million to Mayweather

    3.5 million to JMM

.....and approximately 1.5 million in advertisements and miscellaneous....

The promoters of this fight are going to make out like bandits......the 1 million in PPV sales dont include the live gate and or the ticket sales from movie theatres.

You Buxzer prayed that it would flop, but it did huge numbers despite a same day PPV UFC event opposing the fight at the same time frame!

    Mayweather-JMM>Pacquiao-Hatton

.....which = Mayweather is in positiion to call the shots!:lol::lol::lol:

I love Manny Pacquiao and I really believe he deserves more money than Floyd Mayweather, simply because he leaves it all in the ring.......

......but yeah, it does make me happy to see a ******* be brought down from the **** smack he talked all along during the whole Mayweather-JMM promotion.

Buxzer, you gave neither Mayweather or JMM any credence as far as their ability to draw fight fans......
......and this promotion is solid proof that when you have two bonafide, elite level champions pitted against eachother, it will sell.

Its all said and done now.....

Three common opponents that both Mayweather and Pacquiao each fought on PPV.....DLH, Hatton and JMM....

in each one of those fights, Mayweather not only outsold Pacquiao, but he did so by significant amounts......

.....just absolutely no way is Pacquiao in a position to demand more money than Mayweather.:deal

Whats there to be confused about????

In the US Marquez is a bigger name than Hatton.

.....and dont be so dumb to think that Mayweather alone carried this PPV.....it takes two names to carry a PPV to success.

If Mayweather had fought a name like Malignaggi, Diaz, Collazo, or Berto for example, it would have bombed in PPV sales.....and it does'nt just go for Mayweather.....that goes for Pacquiao as well.

......the fight before DLH, *******s were predicting Pac-David-Diaz would do in excessof 500K.....it did less than 180k......

You need two recognizable fighters and a great promotion for the people to show interest and buy.

The name Mayweather alone does not sell PPV.

I don't think the $20 million marketing spending includes the boxers' purses...

"Golden Boy and HBO are spending about $20 million to market the broadcast..."

You know what, the production of 24/7 series is not cheap... The cost is like you are producing a movie...

Also Floyd purse at the latest is reported at $10 million and JMM's purse at 2 million...
