rankings when he WON? His fight with Kotelnik was a close fight, and if you don't believe me, watch it again. I watched the fight 3 times, and I still do not see this highway robbery that many saw.

In fact I youtubed Maidana-Kotelnik, and saw that, that decision looked even worse than this so-called Alexander robbery of Kotelnik.

Why is it today that fighters can't take part in tough fights anymore and get respect by gutting out wins? Even Floyd and PAc had their Castillo and JMM in close fights. WTF is going on with these magazines and sites lol...:huh It is embarrassing to see rankings change every week when a fighter can win a close fight and still be dropped in the rankings.

Boxing is a popularity contest nowadays, and it's embarrassing to read and watch the bias being shown during fights......utterly embarrassing!!!

Totally agree. Agree or disagree, Alexander got the official nod from the judges, and should not be penalized in the rankings because boxing fans are whining, as they often do. I personally thought he won pretty clearly, and had it scored exactly as the OFFICIAL arbiters did.

Ring is a credible magazine, but B.S like this makes it look suspect.

Have to agree, and I'm somewhat anti-Alexander. I think it's completely improper they would drop him like that. Once again The Ring ratings panel demonstrates they're no better than the message board losers (us) they like to take shots at.

If a poor decision comes from a fight then I'm fine with a fighter dropping in the rankings. This happens in other sports with rankings like college football and basketball where sometimes a team will win but drop in the rankings because it was obvious they were dominated and just happened to luckbox their way to victory. Even if you have a clear win teams can drop in the rankings if they clearly underperformed what was expected of them. Alexander was expected to have a pretty easy victory and ends up getting a decision that easily could have gone the other way. It's perfectly reasonable to drop him in the rankings even if you believe he won the fight because based on the discussions around here there's a lot more doubt about his standing than there used to be.

The guy who leapfrogged him essentially shut out the same fighter. Why shouldn't they switch places?

    he didnt perform well..

and actually the rankings arent ranked on "what the fans think" like it or not so your opinion up there dont count

alexander was exposed though..i had kotelnik winning that fight but just cuz a ref misses a pass interference call and one team wins off of it doesnt mean the other team really won cuz u or i thought so..objective or subjective scoring or not...

Where's the link ?I thought Alexander won or drawed. Kotelnik didn't do enough to win. He got out-worked. Ofcourse, he needs to do a bit more than Play defence to win nxt time.

    :good

Ring moves ranks based on performance and not always based on win or lose...
Alex just performed crap and Kotelnik did good, so that's why the "winner" (by the books) dropped and the "loser" climbed in the rankings
