...Being a Calzaghe fan for 10 years. Mikkel Kessler is a fantastic fighter, but Joe's all wrong for him and Joe apparantley had no injuries in the training camp, which is just what I needed to hear, that means his hands may hold up for about 7-8 rounds like they did vs. Lacy(broke his left in the 8th vs. Lacy).

I've given my analysis on this fight many times over, multiple scenerio's could happen here, but every scenerio from my point of view is a Calzaghe victory.

I will be watching the bout excited, because Calzaghe could win several ways and I am excited to find out which way it's going to be.

My personal pick is that Kessler gets Lacyed.:good

But I am certainly not ruling a competitive, but clear victory out depending on a few factors.

I am excited to see what Kessler will bring to the table. I know what Calzaghe can do and bring to the table - whatever it takes - either what he did against Lacy or what he did against Bika...just to talk about extremes. But I want to see how Kessler battles in the biggest fight of his career and the most important hour of his life. I want to see Kessler better than ever, more dangerous than ever, more skilled and intelligent than ever...and I want to see Calzaghe pushed all the way, fighting for his life and shining.

ohhh yeah you might be right about Joe winning this one, but mark my word ...Kessler is NO lacy. Damn I look forward to this match too...love to see Joe bringing out the best from my man Kessler.

Mikkel will adapt if his gameplan isn't working be sure of that...He's a mindgame fighter the sooner people realize that, the sooner they'll discover that this will be the toughest fight for both fighters :bbb

Kessler is much better than Lacy, yes. I was not suggesting that they are on the same level.

But stylistically, Kessler is beyond ****ed, so him getting the Lacy treatment is not far fetched, though I admit not the most likely scenerio.

I sort of feel the same. I just don't see anything that Kessler brings to the fight which Calzaghe won't have seen before. I think Joe is too crafty and clever for him. What I do like about Kessler is that he's consistently strong from start to finish. If he gets off to a fast start then he could put himself in a good position in the latter stages against the much older fighter, who although he has good stamina, has occasionally looked a bit ragged in the second half of fights.

Yeah it might get to be a fight of styles........ and it's here I hope to see Mikkel do his best :bbb but as I see it it's going to be more of a mind game, and it's here I believe Mikkel's got the edge.

Mikkel better have a great strategy for this one and play it to the T...he'd better fight this one with all the intelligence he has undoubtedly been blessed with.

Joe has won fights with two broken hands jammerDK, he'd rather die than lose, mentality goes to Calzaghe. Kessler seems tenative about being hit, for a boxer of course...

Please, Calzaghe can probably cure the AIDs virus if he wanted to, what's Mikkel going to do? Work on his motorcycles?

    Intellgence:

    Calzaghe>Kessler.

I know that Joe is one hell of a fighter with a heart all of us would like to have, and I do not doubt that he'll bring out the best in Mikkel.

But just a thought ....... maybe Mikkel just got a huge heart himself that's what I do believe he does eventhough he haven't had to show it yet. Amsterdam that is exactly the thing I look forward to see :yep

And just let me state something here, I have nothing against Mikkel Kessler and cannot wait to see him match up with others in future match ups, such as possibly Bute or Chad Dawson, who I'd pick him over both of those guys, especially Bute.

I would pick Kessler over Calzaghe if I felt he would win, because I am a gambling man and I pick fights with my head and my wallet, not my heart, I've picked and won bets against favourites on plenty of occassions!

But the stylistic edge for Calzaghe, even at 35 is just too much over Kessler in my opinion, so it'll be a matter of 'how Calzaghe wins', rather than 'who will win' in my viewpoint here.

If you only knew some of the ignorance that boxing fans have witnessed over the years from some of the top fighters....:-(

Calzaghe and Kessler as classy, articulate(Kessler impressive with several languages) world class elite's is a tremendous step up from Floyd Mayweather Jr's stand point, and Floyd is not even among the worst.

If Kessler is not victorious, I hope that you stay with the sport.:good
