As you should, he's fantastic, he's a great fighter to support. I just hope you will stay with following the sport if he is not victorious, it's a gigantic sport with many great pugilistic geniuses, even though we witness two of them this weekend.

I more or less have high beliefs in my ability to pick and analyse fights more so than my favourite guy.:yep

Well, respectively, he's one of the best fighters in the sport currently, so that's an obvious that he's something special. He's 2-3x superior to the current undisputed MW champion in Pavlik by comparison.

I love your confidence Amsterdam! But i cannot help but be nervous.

But then, I always get nervous before a big fight and i cannot help feel a tad apprehensive about this fight. In fact, i get nervous watching crown green bowling FFS nevermind a boxing fight between two awesome athletes!! :rofl

Still, I have wanted to see this fight for about two years and really cannot wait for this fight to happen this weekend, so my aprrehension is just adrenaline I guess. However, after reading Calzaghe's auto bio and after reading and seeing him in interviews in the media, I think his mind seems elsewhere! Not fully focused. For instance, he keeps talking about retirement and Kessler being his hardest fight ever etc. and this is not like Calzaghe! Now i know he has a fight to promote and all that, but i just hope he is not getting himself ready for a loss.

Alas, i do not believe Calzaghe will lose if he is fully focused like he was against Lacy, but if he is thinking about retiring......

Joe is a very god boxer, but he has nothing Kessler can't handle.

My personal pick is that Joe gets Andraded :happy

Whatever happens - we as fans can only rejoice.

I have never in my life been so torn as to what will happen at any sports event. To me pretty much anything can happen; JC gets schooled, Kessler ditto, ultimate close match, knockdowns, knockouts for either boxer.

One thing that I am certain of, is that none of them are anything but elites. Their assets are so completely different, and not only that - their weaknesses are likewise. Both are a step up from what they have ever faced.

My only real fear for Kessler is, that he disregards the warrior within Calzaghe. Or gets timid, if he gets stunned.

However, despite fears - I am fairly certain, that despite that Calzaghes style is tougher to unlock than Kesslers, I do think that Kessler is the smarter, and less "arrogant". And as such I am fairly certain he will prevail.

Nonetheless, this is the clash of the titans, and I will feel somewhat empty after this fight is over. Fortunately it will be possible to rewatch fights endlessly, and I think this will be my most rewatched fight ever....

    Kessler is the future....

    As torn as I am

That is wrong, mate. Calzaghe has more than once made hazardrous attempts in the ring - so far he has prevailed because he is a warrior, not due intelligence(not stating that he isn't because he can alter his gameplans). Kessler however, can do likewise, and do very rarely anything stupid.

He allowed the hazardous attempts to happen to make it appear that he was somewhat beatable, to attempt to lure in overrated big names, it was nothing more, nothing less.

...I need to stop hanging out with CHJ!:rofl
