To be fair, it doesnt matter what size these guys are. If their gloves champs and you havent even been training for a year, they are gonna make it look easy. However you learn from people better than you as you learn to adapt to the things they do better, so can only be a good thing.

I'm about 190 lbs and I've sparred someone around 260-270 lbs. In the gym you can't always pick someone your own size. I've also sparred guys all the way down to 130 lbs.

With the size difference being that big, try to be more defensive than usual. And I agree with the previous posts, always keep a high guard and try to out-box the big mofo if you can.

I've always had a bigger problem with speed than size. I'm 6'4" 200 so there are a lot of guys my height with a lot more pop. As long as I can see it coming, it's ok. If a guy is that much bigger than you and a speed demon, find a new sparring partner.

Obviously getting beat up in the gym isn't going to help but from what I have heard and learned so far getting beat up a couple of times is like a lesson if you know what I mean.

but you're still at at. huge disatvantage because the guy you're sparring is probably stronger and he hits harder. I spar with my bro sometimes who's bigger, and I just think it'd be way unfair.
at my gym, I spar with people that are taller but mostly the same weight. I've only really sparred someone 20 LB heavier then me.

That is crap man. If it feels like "bombs" on your head it is because you are getting brain damage. Sparring should not be that serious!

Look man, some others have said it, sparring is NOT about destroying each other. If a guy is bigger than you and hitting you at will neither of you are learning anything if he is unloading on you. That means your coach needs to throw in some limitations/scenarios. If he just throws you in and lets you guys pound each other free hand? You have some soul and gym searching to do.

You can't always pick guys by size in the gym, but everyone should have an understanding of who can do what and the biggest guy should not be trying to KO you.

You should never take beatings in sparring-just going to damage your body.Nobody ever learns anything taking a beating other then pain.

If you want to progress you need to spar someone close to your own weight and experience level.
