Its a **** fight not even hbo2 worty! Glad hbo turned it down, hopefully it makes k2 get him better fighters! WORTHY OPPONENTS Latin Snake Mora Geale Sturm Chavez Ward froch Kessler #GetSomeQualityWinsGGG #
Being in the UK anyway I genuinely don't give a damn what HBO does - I suspect they'll buy the rights to air later - perhaps prior to his next fight (**** - I'm just happy that I won't have to stay up til 4 or 5am). The rest of the names on your list I'd be excited about (and I'd maybe add Murray though his last outing was apparently less than convincing) - but Mora? The only justification for GGG fighting the Snake is if they (once again) were unable to get someone decent in the ring... The only potential argument for Mora is that it'd show how GGG would cope with a decent spoiler, and for that alone it has some value, but realistically Mora is no better an opponent than Adama and certainly does no more for his career except put another recognisable name on his resume for the US viewership. As for Sturm - might as well forget 'bout it til GGG brings retirement level Euros - the principal reason GGG left Universum in 2010 was their continued refusal to make the Sturm fight when Felix was under the same (now thankfully defunct) promotion.
well theres ortiz/collazo n then FNF so sense there is fight back to back days im coo with no fights sat
HBO2 could not air it due to technical reasons, not to mention the undercard fell apart (Cleverly and Murray). The venue couldn't accommodate their equipment and requirements to broadcast. They tried but couldn't make it work. I agree it's a pushover fight, but that's not why HBO isn't airing it. At least get your facts straight. Let's go down the list of opponents you mention. Mora: slightly more challenging but does not satisfy an IBO challenge. Adama does as he's ranking 3rd there and #1 Geale passed as did #2 Sturm. Geale: see previous comment. Geale actually gave up the WBA belt rather than fight GGG. It was ultimately a business decision and I don't blame him, but he passed on the Feb 1 fight, but should fight GGG in April or the fight after that. Sturm: shamelessly ducked GGG for a long, long time when GGG was his mandatory. Almost got stripped but he lost to Geale (who did get stripped--see Geale section). Chavez: he's a 168 pounder, and has been committed to the Vera rematch. Ward: if there's a good 50/50 offer, they would make the move to fight him. Otherwise they continue to build at 160 to fatten the purse and so they can command a 50/50 split when the time comes. Froch: already had better fights being discussed and Hearns has pretty much given his view on GGG: http://youtube.com/watch?v=QrU_K72fJls Kessler: Retired? Might fight Froch one more time, but GGG is likely out of the question. Anyway. Like it or not, Adama, sadly, was about the best useful (i.e. fulfills IBO mando) option. HBO seems to be investing in a good fight for April, we can hope... I'd bet Geale, if I had to wager.
Current WBA rankings @MW: 1.Martin Murray 2.Dmitry Chudinov 3.Daniel Geale 4.Jarrod Fletcher 5.Patrick Nielsen 6.Max Bursak 7.Gilberto Ramirez 8.Danny Jacobs 9.Alex Theran 10.Sergio Mora Maybe Mora should do something to move up in the rankings, like fight Murray or Geale. I guess it's easier to not fight and just talk about it in interviews. I can imagine all the butthurt if GGG was fighting Mora this weekend though. "when GGG gonna fite somebody who can punch?!"
What the fawk, this is a stay busy fight. Triple Gs gotta stay busy till one of these ***s at 160 find some balls to fight him. I'm disappointed that we're gonna miss out on watching the boxer with the highest KO ratio in boxing do some work against a solid contender.
You can't just snap your finger and get anyone into a ring that you want to fight. Golovkin wants to fight Martinez, but Martinez chose a bigger money fight with Cotto. Golovkin can't get Sturm to fight him, nor can he get Quillin, Geale, Murray. If getting a fight with one of them is so easy, then why doesn't someone get that fight for him?
I will probably watch that fight on PPV like I did Golovkin/Ishida, it will be approx. $25................
Seeing your worst nightmare on tv time after time, beating the crap out of the competition for the coming years must really be tough on you. Is it that you hate all Asian fighters or just Golovkin in particular? :blood
