Parker probably isn't capable of winning a round against Usyk. He has no advantages whatsoever except the five year age gap which is something but he's a fat slob so it gets cancelled out. The only time he looks decent is when he's fighting HW's with low skills or slow speed and he outboxes them, but of course he is never outboxing Usyk. He's not 6'4 either, probably the same height as Usyk. A good fight for Parker, someone more his level(actually better), is the Joyce rematch.
Knowing usyk,s stategy it might be exactly this . He wants an opponent where he can be 100% sure he wins .
No one had any interest in Parker vs Usyk because Parker is made to measure for Usyk. The real threats to Usyk come from Itauma or Kabayel. The unknown quantities are required, because the previous upper echelons of the divisions are now all past it or semi retired (Wilder, AJ, Fury)
Usyk really has no big name dance partners left, he should have just retired undefeated and rich.. it'll be sad if someone beats him
For me, pushing for the Parker fight was never about thinking he'd give Usyk a tough fight or that it'd be a great fight. It was that he was the most deserving challenger and thus deserved a shot even if I thought he'd lose wide. This is how it should be. I don't care if they'll most likely get blasted out in a round. If they go on a run that makes then the most worthy of a title shot, give them their title shot.
Every time you talk about the heavyweight division its to ***** and moan about how **** the boxers are, and how pointless every fight is, besides Fury of course. Do you even enjoy this sport?
Sort of? With Dubois it was more about getting the IBF title back, circumstances just made it so that the title was in the hands of someone he already defeated. Fury was always contracted for two fights as well. Either way I'm just glad his next fight will be with a new face, and it's one of the reasons why I hope we don't get a Dubois-Kabayel fight until after Usyk's fought him, presumably after Wardley. I'd expect Kabayel to beat him, but it isn't a foregone conclusion by any means and we don't need that trilogy
