I am so god damn excited!!! Anyone hit up Jimmy's before the fights? (or anyone know if it's a cool pub?)

I know im just being a Canadian homer, but I really think Lemieux is going to make an unreal fight out of this.

I got GGG TKO 4, but god damn these will be some fun rounds...

    Plust, Chocolatito!!

yes was in NYC for Cotto-Martinez last year and Jimmy's corner was the place to be on the Friday night and the Sat after the fights. Great little pub, with the emphasis on the word little. it's small but I loved it. I'm heading over for the GGG card too, can't wait to return.

*bevvies - just another term for going for alcoholic drinks. we say it here too

Try Rudys bar and grill...$5 for a shot of Irish whiskey ,a pint of beer and a hot dog also, where can you ever get a great deal like that.
Jimmys is good but too tight at times.

I was there before the Cotto-Martinez fight (*although I didn't actually attend the fight).

Cool place. It's pretty small and usually crowded, but was able to get seated in the back and enjoyed it there. I was at a table in the back (with a few current/former ESB'ers actually), and people from a few of the nearby tables wound up joining in some of our boxing convos. Not something I'm usually used to outside of this forum, so that was a nice bonus.

Jimmy's can definitely be tight, but that place had shockingly cheap drinks, too.

As a born and bred NYC boy,and a BIG boxing fan,I suggest you check out Jimmy's corner on Thursday and Friday night where like minded fans and boxing types will hang out.As stated it's a tight(to say the least) bar but it has character. As for a pre fight pint or two check out Brother Jimmy's on 8th Ave(just a block from MSG) where Steve Kim and other boxing scribes hang out before heading out to the Gardens for the fight.
Enjoy-you will have a blast and I may see you there!:thumbsup
