Only the moronic fanboys. Objective people who enjoy the sport as a whole will stick around to continue having adult discussions with fellow enthusiasts. The more fanboys that dissapear the better I say.
I tought it was bad stylewise for him. I still see Cotto beating floyd and Margarito being outpointed by floyed. Only one who beats Margarito is slick boxer with good chin or diffence, or boxers bigger then him. Cotto is a small guy compared to margo with a soso chin.
I thought he was somewhat overrated as well.. but I just wanted to see Margarito get ktfo .. I honestly thought Cotto would find a way to win and would get more respect from Margo with his punches but Margo was too stubborn tonite
If Cotto has always been overrated as you say then I guess Margo does'nt deserve much credit for beating him right?atsch
I dont think he is i just think he came up against what we now know is truely what makes this sport great. And Thats having a huge TICKER- (Heart),which AM showed he has the biggest one of all. lets be realistic here Cotto was making AM look silly early on.
So as soon as a fighter loses his 0-hes gotta go? Thats absolute BS imo that he is overrated. Its a simple fact that Margarito's style was too much for Cotto, as it is for many fighters. Styles make fights, not previous opposition, and more to the point, if we are looking at fight history, then Cotto beat whoever was put in front of him convincingly prior to last night. This statement also discredits the guts and sheer mexican tenacity that Antonio Margarito put on display last night, as he was so hungry he was eating Cotto's arsenal of power punches and still moved forward. A degree of objectivity must be shown when analysing this fight, and true boxing fans will marvel at the great exhibition of skills we saw last night. Cotto's boxing ability and Margarito's hunger and drive proved that the sport isnt dead, and that the label 'overrated' given here is so loosely attributed.. But if we take the argument of history, then look back at Duran and Hearns, who had both been sparked out in less than 3 rds in fights, does that make them 'overrated'?
He was overated I mean he was never going to beat Floyd! EVER and I think part of the hype was fans wanted him to be the one to beat Floyd! Now however watch them move onto Margarito.
STFU for gimps like you only undefeated fighters arent overrated, every time an undefeated fighter loses a fight nowadays hes exposed and was overrated thats why guys like Mayweather dont fight nobody cause they dont want to lose theyre undefeated record. when you fight one top guy after another youre going get in trouble sooner or later.
It was a 50/50 pick em' fight. If anything Margarito's heart, will & determination were underrated. Cotto put on the best performance he could.... But he did what most everyone else did aswell They slept on Tony's hunger.
oh shut up stop making excuses for cotto most of this forum said cotto was going to beat margarito but he never did. don't worry cotto will be bak and he'll be more hungrier then ever before margarito just had him last night
