GG. He takes on real comp. He takes on real threats. He is content to go 12, and if the ko comes it comes. Yeah he got hit a lil bit with the jab, and a few hooks. For him to be fighting at home and not look no where near bad shows that me that he is a true pro. The crowd could've forced Kov to fight more aggressive, but Kov is a mart fighter. Kov still closed the show.

Kov looked a little slow tonight. Not because he got hit or anything like that. He lacked zip in his shots. Maybe Chilemba had something to do with that. Kov is 33 years old. I love Kov as a fighter. He has my full respect. :good

GG, either you're going to step up, or keep fighting bums and getting respect from fanatics. Right now you're not half the man Kov is IMO. You're a fraud until you take a real challenge chump.

Fighters have off nights. And Kovalev still dominated the fight with ease. It's funny how the little g fan girsl are doing everything they can to discredit Kovalev because they dont want to give Ward any credit. But when Golovkin has an off night against Ouma they have a million excuses.

Im not a kovalev fan, I'm a GGG fan. But kovalev had a lot on his mind tonight. Returning to the same venue where you killed a man is not an easy task. He will be much better than this back in america, but I still thinks ward beats him. He has my respect.

Really generous of him to donate the purse to the family too.

GG is going to get in with a true threat one day. Only then will we find out if he can truly fight. Kov has seen it all, and he' fighting Ward next. Who is GG fighting next lol?:huh:lol:

Don't tell me. A threat from WW.

:good A very good assessment, and I don't even disagree with the GGG comment all that much.

Kovalev is resume is overrated. Yes it's better than Golovkin's. But that's not saying much.

I had to leave for work so I didn't get to see this fight but didn't somebody early in the RBR mention that Valuev said Kovalev had an injured hand? Was that the case or was it ever mentioned again?

Whose resume isn't a bit overrated these days? You take what you can get and I think Kovalev has taken on all comers.

I guess that's fair. Still wish the Stevenson or Beterbiev fights would have happened.

I agree with a lot of that.

Even though I like GGG I don't think the fight reflected badly on Kovalev at all. He still won comfortably enough, honestly I thought it was really close from reading the comments until I saw the fight on replay. And I kept telling people before the fight that Chilemba was a really tough opponent.

Agreed, but I cannot blame Kovalev for either of these.

Stevenson: almost every one knows that he isn't keen on the idea of facing Kovalev. Even this year Main Events sent an offer.

Beterbiev: Kovalev's team sent a fair offer, but Beterbiev's team decided they wanted a few more fights to prepare. Fair enough. This fight will happen sooner or later, a year or two delay will only make the fight even bigger.

    What real comp?

I'm pretty sure Golovkin would be willing to face similar comp on his own division

I like Kova, I like Ward and I like GGG as a fighter.

It´s ridiculous to hate Golovkin because he is so dominant and excellent fighter. There you fools go wrong big time. I understand that boxing doesn´t attracks most intelligent people on the board but still.

Golovkin lack P4P opponent but he has done everything you can ask from MW champion. Trying to downplay him as a fighter is talk from a seven years old. Everyfighter has their off nights and Kova had one yesterday. Same faith will come to Golovkin as well. Ward already has got couple. I wouldn´t make a case based on one fight.
