As Mr Bunce is so fond of saying boxing is a bums on seats business (apart from Sports Network WBO title defences which are more of a bums in ring business ).

There is going to be a lot of demand for tickets and I'm sure there'll be plenty of people willing to pay the £750.

I avoid going to the big shows unless I get a free ticket as I don't see them as good vfm but then I'm not very rich. If I was I'd be snaffling up front row tickets.

 

i wonder if this will be a more successful promotion than Sports networks up and coming promotions

 

Cleverly v Oakey and Brook v McIntyre? It's obviously going to gross more than those, but I know Haye was having problems getting HWs over for reasonable money.

Not sure of the finances on the Haye bill but wouldn't be too shocked given that he's trying to make a name for himself and get the Wlad fight if the event didn't make too much money.

It would depend how much Haye as fighter took out of the profit for the event ie chose to receive most of his pay as fighter or promoter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to be implying that Enzo was a bigger name than Haye going into the fight...

 

Thats not what I was implying

I meant it was a big show - that gave both fighters exposure

But for Enzo it was a disaster exposure

And for Haye he got to "shine" in the glory like a Peacock with his feathers all displayed

But now you raise the subject

I dont think that either of them was that big a name to the main stream

But Enzo had fought on much bigger shows - even against poor opponnets like Bobby Gunn

 

ive experienced the 02 with the Prince concert and hjaye vs mac!

I sat in the lower tier section, and it was very good! Unsure about the upper tier, looked a bit "out-there"

If he can sell them then, by definition, he is.

 

Ok - I did say that

what I mean is - I think he is overpricing them there

but sure there will probaly be some rich guys that snap them up - by defention he would be worth it

but I think in relation to other ticket prices he is over pricing himself

he is not a seven figure earning fighter like Hatton and Calzaghe - not yet anyway

 

you will be able to see haye and barrett but thats about it i find watching fights that far away is very hard, seeing which punches land and dont land is a different kettle of fish

 

nice, the main reason i was put off is because if i went i would like to be reasonably close to ringside, and therefore the ticket prices would be silly. I have never been to the 02 arena but if what your saying is true about having a good view then it changes things:smoke

 

In all fariness to Flint whilst Haye is a better fighter and more known than Enzo Mac, their fight was touted as the biggest British fight since Benn and Eubank....now i know the real boxing fans knew this to be different.....but.....

I think the fight against Enzo has made Haye into a bigger name, than Haye beating Mormeck, even though Mormeck is/was a more distinguished champion than Enzo.
