which should tell you something. if he has gone through 4 divisions, numerous undefeated fighters, numerous world titlists, and you still dont have a clue to his ceiling... what does that tell you?

 

that boxing today is not that great, and you can handpick your way to multiple titles without facing someone good. The Spence fight will prove something. If he is what he say he is, he can handle Spence. If he can't, he was overrated. Moving up is a challenge and it does show how good someone is.

 

great, then you must have a comprehensive list of all these boxers handpicking titles across 4 divisions, with all the undefeated fighters they had to handpick their way through to get their titles. i wait in anticipation.
the problem with mikeys image, is that loma has a lot of fans that dksab, so they repeat dumbassery that nobody bothers to question, and it becomes a thing with those just as clueless. for example, i will point to an argument that you may be tempted to use. broner is proof that anyone can win titles in 4 weights. guess what? no, he is not. another. salido was coming on strong after being dropped like a bad habit 4 times. no, he wasnt. there are many more, but you get the picture.
perhaps the problem lies in people not fully understanding what they are seeing when they equate what broner did with what mikey did, or maybe they just lie through their teeth to protect their feelings... i think its a combination of both.

so you think these guys now like Mikey and Broner did what Hearns or Benitez or Duran did? Hearns beat Cuevas, Benitez and Hill for 3 of his titles. Of course that is my argument. This era of fighters are not good. Catchweights and handpicking title fights.Now if they get rid of the catchweights, which I know Mikey is not part of that, but that made boxing go down. And less titles, which will not happen because of the sanctioning fees.

Boxing is a sport of skill and Mikey backs up well and comes forward well and has good counterpunching. If he can hurt Spence, then the whole fight is thrown in the air. That is the key to the fight. Not Mikey winning a decision, but hurting Spence. He has to hurt him to win.

 

Broner is proof anyone can win titles. I think the Broner winning was like he won an NABF title in the 1980s And he has 4 of them. Broner is what is wrong with boxing, although Mikey I like and I think he picking Spence is something good about him. Taking a chance. He is a throwback. I don't know if he is yet qualified to be a 4 time champ, but this Spence fight will tell us a lot. I give him a chance.

 

i dont agree, quite a few of us saw broner beat a couple of times before getting to welter, his 4 weight climb was a sham. mikey has never even been close to losing and he did beat the chicken grease out the same guy who gave the current p4p #1 diarrhea... and then went on to conquer 3 additional divisions after schooling him. 2 totally different planets right there.
