Thats why i said from the beginning that Clottey didnt earn or deserve to be fighting pacquiao. I really think floyd is going to school pac.

it's only the dumb ****s who look at the clottey fight and think pac has more chance of beating floyd just because he looked awesome beating a guy with his hands up coming forward in straight lines. you got to be dumb to think that.

I don't think it's a question of whether Mayweather will hit Pac (he will) and whether Pac will be able to handle it (he will).

It's whats going to happen if Pac hits Mayweather & whether he will be able to handle it. That's whats gonna make the fight interesting!

You mean Floyd would take the same strategy and allow Pac to hit him and just stick to covering up? Because Pac adjusted to Clotteys reaction, that why he played it that way. If Pac's opponent was a busier guy that was willing to engage or counter punch, he would have made adjustments and fought differently. Because by you logic, having watched Cotto's fight with Clottey, where Clottey had the liberty to go all out and throw much more punches, He should have given Pac a much harder fight. Floyd is a given master boxer and counterpucher, Pac will not implement the same strategy.

Against Clottey, I have a feeling that Pac somehow felt obliged to make it an exciting fight so he took so much risk. He got hit a lot but those were during time when it did not matter anymore. It is kinda like NBA players just letting the opponents score because of the huge lead.

I agree thought Clottey hit Pac way too easily , but weve always known PBF Pac would come down to .................... can Floyd handle Manny's intensity , if he can he wins thats the bottom line .

I had very mixed feeling watching this fight.

The most striking thing that occurred to me despite Pac's dominance, is that he really shouldn't be fighting at 147, he is just too small for that division and is only getting away with it because there are no true great welterweights in the division at the moment, merely good ones.

However in terms of the welters who are in the division now, Floyd is cautious and despite his skills, isn't a big puncher.

Mosley is 38 and is obviously not at his best, so win or lose against either one, I don't think Pac has to worry about getting his head knocked off.

But could you imagine the trouble Pac would have had against a prime SRL or Hearns in this division?

As was said by one of the callers on "On the Ropes", I think Pac vs Floyd could be a bit like Calzaghe vs Hopkins, but unlike Hopkins, I don't see Floyd fading so I suspect he wins a UD.

I wouldn't completely rule out Pac winning, but I think a Floyd UD is the most likely scenario.

I think Mosley has a better chance of beating Pac.

The main difference I see between the defense of Clottey and Mayweather's is that Floyd has always been able to counter whilst still being in a defensive posture. Clottey needs time, Floyd doesn't. His fight against Oscar, a big guy, was throwing combination's at Floyd on the ropes and he met with right hand counters a lot of the time. One even stunned Oscar, now people, if Mayweather can rock Oscar he can rock Manny.

Clottey's ability to land on Manny virtually every time he let his hands go reinforces my belief that Floyd gets the better of Manny...handily.

I have to say, regardless of whether or not he tried to draw him out by being hit in the head :-s He does look open to right hands, I wanted Pac to win, but at the end I found myself wanting Clottey to throw the right hand. Everytime he used the right hand lead it connected... On the defence side, Mayweather uses movement and the shoulder roll as well as a peek a boo defence, this allows him to thrown counters and unorthodox counters from angles. The question is can he get enough output to win rounds? And would judges scor body shots and arm/glove shots... May vs Pac needs to happen :)

Clottey is a stable target and is known to lose to top level competition. Was Saturday supposed to be a shocker?

:good I dont think people truly appreciate how much of a gulf in class there was between pacquiao and clottey. It was so much that pacquiao was clowning clottey (clap punch) and actually giving him free shots at the chin on numerous occasions. I watched the fight with a couple of people and remember telling them that 'what the hell pacquiao is giving the dude free shots on him'. Its amazing really when you consider how much bigger clottey was. Pacquiao only allowed the free shots to allow for a more competitive fight, one which was better to watch.

No doubt when fighting floyd he wouldnt do this, but then again maybe he would?
