Gonzalez has fought from 105-112 pounds. He's 5'3". Almost no men are that tiny. He's just so little. He cannot generate any power at that size. The talent pool is so thin. He's just too little to generate a lot of buzz. He's just so tiny.
38 KO's in 44 wins would indicate that Gonzalez can generate plenty of power against men his size. :yep The talent pool at Flyweight is as deep as it's been in decades. And given that Gonzalez can draw from the jr. lightweight (and face Nietes) and super flyweight divisions (Inoue, Cuadras, and Concepcion) for prospective opponents, that broadens his options even further. If you don't want to follow boxing's lower weight divisions in the post Pacquiao era, that's fine. But don't comment on it if you choose not to do so. Some of us actually enjoy watching high quality boxing, regardless of size.
Roman Gonzalez is deserving of all that acclaim/hype he's getting and recognition as the #1 p4p fighter in the world On the other hand A guy like Golovkin, who has fought almost no one of note is NOT. That's the difference.
If you think about it though, I mean for say a European 5'3 would be abnormally short, however it's probably not the same in places like Asia and Latin America so the talent pool when you account the population of those places could be bigger than you'd think.
No one said it did, he is p4p greater and greatness greater. Get it? He's so much more dominant against much better competition.
Pacquiao fought at flyweight and won a title there. And, at 5'3", Gonzalez is a mere two inches shorter than Willie Pep and Henry Armstrong. Both of those fighters turned out to be pretty good, didn't they... :good
I'm pretty sure Pacquiao would KO Gonzalez within 2 rounds and Pac is tiny himself. That's how tiny Gonzalez is.
You mean the talent pool starts to get ridiculous or the sport itself? Because the sport is the same at 250lbs and 112lbs... scratch that, the sport at 112lbs is faster, more energetic and generally more entertaining.
