No, I think it is natural for a Mexican to not root for Manny at first, because of national pride. Since the Mexicans are one of the best group of fighters in the lower weights, it means that Manny gets to face a lot of them and need to beat them all.

I'd feel that way too, towards my fellow Filipino boxers. Filipino first. Win or lose.

I'm sure that many Mexicans even back then like him a little better when he fights boxers from other countries.

same with me and Marquez. Before I didn't think he was incredible, but in the 2nd Pac fight he made me a believer. You should have seen me when Marquez fought Diaz. In fact if you're in California then you were probably close enough to hear me.

Dramatic sports endings. Nothing like it.

Fans involuntarily turn into screaming, jumping, joyful maniacs.

This stuff makes you feel alive.

Pac seems like a nice down to earth guy so there is no reason to hate him personally. He is friendly with most his opponents like Hatton and Morales.

Besides as Morales is my favorite fighter, the better Pac does the better for Morales' legacy in the future. Because Morales did something Barrera, JMM, DLH and Hatton couldnt do and that is beat Pac on the score cards, so the more wins Pac picks up the better for Morrales' legacy.
