..............I applaud the rather ballsy move he made when he called out the judges on national TV, instead of playing the safe, corporate HBO line of "well, I certainly don't agree with those cards, but I'm not an official judge." He told a national audience that he suspected corruption was a possible reason for the cards being what they were in this fight. That took a bit of guts, folks. It wouldn't surprise me if he will have to have a little sit-down with the higher-ups about behaving himself, and I have to say I respect the skinny little douchebag a bit more now. Thoughts? Personally, as you may have already garnered from this post, I think it's about ****ing time someone call these *******s on the carpet for their ineptitude and/or corruption.
right on. :good i made a thread talking about this a minute ago because you can tell he's serious when his hands shake. he has my respect for that though.
Larry Merchant is the guy with balls. Kellerman is just doing his best Merchant impression all the time, though Kellerman deserves credit for constant improvements and adjustments. Max Kellerman is a winner, the kid is a perfectionist and pushes his own limits as much as any professional in any field.
One of these days Kellermans eye are going to pop out on live TV. He was right, though, to call out the judges on this bout. I'm going on the Aussie site to see what they are saying.
I agree. Merchants got balls of steel and he tells it like it is but he's not gonna be around forever and its good to see Kellerman finally grow a pair. Someone's gotta carry on that tradition of being brutally honest and calling out fighters, sanctioning bodies and shitty ref's when Larry's gone.
Wonder what Teddy Atlas would have said about the scores. His head would have blow off. Fri Night Fights is off until football season is over, so we won't hear his opionion this week.
Agree with everything you stated, i have always like Kellerman since espn. A ballsy move and the execs might have a talk with him.
I watched the fight live. Can somebody inform me on what Max was saying. I couldn't hear what was he saying with all the noise.
Kellerman was also the only HBO guy to man up and have the guts to say that Juan Manuel Marquez in his opinion had won at least 16 of 24 rounds vs Manny Pacquiao, if not more...... Kellerman even went as far as to call JMM the featherweight of his generation, over HBO darlings Pac, MAB and Morales....... ......that my friends is honesty. Hope Kellerman is true to himself and says whats actually in his mind, instead of playing by HBO house rules. I dont always have to agree with the man, but you have to respect an opinion that you know is'nt being forced upon him.
