I'm no longer convinced that a 1974 George Foreman would just plow through Wilder after last night

Lennox Lewis would have destroyed him the way he destroyed Razor Ruddock. Ko 2.

Yeah...though Lewis floundered a bit against Bruno for a while. I think Lewis-Wilder could resemble that...but that still means Lewis wins, doesn't it? :D

Oh yes. Wilder's finishing has looked anything but impressive, though. Yes, he has got his man out of there, but the opposition hasn't been much to write home about.

And I think Joshua might have learned quite a bit from his troubles with Wlad, while I see little room for improvement for Wilder at 32 and a 10 year pro career behind him.

But that mofo will probably lay Joshua out and make me look, and feel, like a fool. :)

I actually think a Wilder v Lewis fight could be similar to the Bruno ft. Wilder getting off first ,maybe rocking Lennox , then Lewis storming back and stopping him on the rope's.

No no it's Mac..My point was even though Wilder is a Champ he still hasn't fought anyone I consider top caliber. So his hype on here by some is similar to the hype Mac was getting til the first really good guy he fought derailed him. If Wilder fights a proven guy soon We'll know more about him. I think all this hype is premature. Thought he exhibited very lousy skill the other night. Yea he's got power but so did Mac too

I just disagree. Wilder, Lyle, and Shavers all hit very hard. But, Shavers and Lyle know how to box and set people up for those punches. Wilder doesn't. His boxing skills (or lack thereof) are painful to watch. He does so many things wrong. And, Until Ortiz stopped punching, Wilder landed very few meaningful blows as a result. George would physically manhandle Wilder up close (something Ortiz never even attempted to do for some unknown reason) and pummel him with both hands from the outside. Even George's jab is likely to hurt Wilder quite a bit. And George's chin is certainly strong enough to sustain the occasional lucky punch that Wilder might land.
