I'm not a fan of Froch as a person, but after...

    Tonight's Ringside it just made me realize how f*cking game he is as a fighter, and he is exactly that... A FIGHTER.

    Great little montage on him from some of his fights, too.

    He's done it the hard way and came out smelling of roses, IMHO.

    It put into perspective how f*cking laughable Joe Calzaghe's career really was.

    Froch entered the 'Super 6'. Ok, so he lost (to arguably the greatest SMW of all time) but he still threw his name into the hat and got to the final. Bute never entered it. I doubt Joe would have either.

    Just HEADLINED the biggest Boxing show in modern British history (and won, via highlight reel KO).

    Froch has fought all over the place whereas Joe only did when everyone was either old as f*ck or shot to sh*t.

    Fair play to Froch - Deserves every bit of respect he gets, as he has earned it.

    People say 'Cherish him, because you won't see someone like him again when he's gone' when they talk about Floyd. Nah, they should be saying that about Froch. If Floyd had a tenth of Carl's bottle he'd be the GOAT. I can't wait for Floyd to quit The man is Haye lite.

    Carl = The man.

    Great post.

    Also thought froch came across really well on ringside, nice to see him laughing about himself when Nelson called him an international superstar haha.

    Did you see the handshake at the end? Had me in bits. :lol::lol:

    I LOVE world champions who fight all over the world - It;s what you are SUPPOSED to do, and Froch has done that.

    And he doesn't hold the belts hostage, unlike Joe.

    Froch's had a top class career, got to take your hat off to him.

    That said, Calzaghe's "laughable" career?

    - Undefeated in 46 fights
    - Beat Kessler who holds a victory over Froch
    - World champion in 2 weight classes
    - Held the ring title in those 2 weight classes meaning he was "the man of the division" something Froch hasn't done.
    - Longest reigning SMW champion in history
    - Was ranked top 3 pound for pound

    You can dig holes into Calzaghes career like you can do anyone's for example;

    - Eubank wasn't prime when he won the title
    - Jeff Lacy turned out not to be the monster we thought he was after Calzaghe gave him a boxing lesson
    - Robin Reid in his pomp gave him a good, hard close fight.
    - Roy Jones and Hopkins were old (although Calzaghe was 37 himself and they were the last 2 fights of his career, those 2 still haven't jacked it in with Hopkins still being a world champion).

    ...but then same token, you can do the same to Froch;

    - Has never been the number 1 in the division.
    - 2 losses to Ward and Kessler
    - Was on the floor and on the bring of losing to a blown up MW in Taylor, but credit to him pulled it out the bag in the dying seconds.
    - Arguably lost to Andre Dirrell, who although many say is a talent has beaten nobody of note whatsoever.
    - Arthur Abraham another blown up MW who hasn't been the same "monster" he was previously billed as since moving up to 168
    - Lucien Bute, again who has he ever beaten? Very much hyped before Froch took him apart.
    - Glen Johnson, years past it.

    Swings and roundabouts. Both had top class careers but Froch hasn't made Calzaghe's career look laughable by any stretch of the imagination.

    Joe pissed away his prime to guys like that.

    Title defenses against Peter Manfredo? Laughable really.

    You can give one fighter credit without having to **** on others. Ruined an otherwise good post/thread with that. Froch and Calzaghe have both had good careers as have Mayweather, Haye and others.

    How am I wrong?

    And as for how you are wrong:

    This ^ is all wrong

    I don't see how this ^ is true either.

    And I don't really see what your point is here ^. Neither Bute nor Calzaghe ever had the opportunity to enter the 'Super 6'. There is no way of knowing whether either of them would have entered if given the chance but I see no reason why not. Ward and Dirrell entered and they don't seem like the bravest of warriors. Bute showed interest in fighting Ward and actually did fight Froch. Calzaghe fought his two biggest SMW threats in Lacy and Kessler.
