After watching a few fights of his I don't understand why people are praising this guy so much. Don't get me wrong, he's one hell of an athlete but he still fights like an amateur which is why he gets dropped so much.

I seriously think he will have his hands full with Lopez

    I like him.

I also think Lopez beats him.

Given Lopez is flawed too plus vulnerable to handspeed, their fight could be a short and explosive affair - Hagler-Hearns at best, Pacquiao-Hatton at worst, I can see both happening, but just have no idea who'd win.

I do agree that Yuri's pro game is fundamentally flawed, and some bad habits he can't seem to get rid of. The thing is: he's a good kid and a hard worker now that he has the right people around him to keep mentally focused, but technical mistakes will only go away with an experienced pro trainer who can handle such athletic talent. But I don't see a change in the corner, so I consider his career a time bomb hoping to put a solid resume together before it goes off. And as long as it lasts, we the fans will be entertained. Cool with me.

Flash, speed, solid power. Same reason people jump on Khans dick. Judah's aswell. Like those two, he had a promising amateur career that everyone is hoping will translate to a successful professional career.

i think he messes about with some opponents, like he knows their not on his level and he doesnt have to be as strict and take them quite as serious.

he may be one of those fighters that only really steps it up and takes things serious for the big fights and equally matched opponents.

They are both flawed, I just favor technique over athleticism

You can have all the technique you want, but speed is the name of the game, Gamboa is getting better every time out, he is more poised and has settle a bit, I'll say that before Lopez lands one of those bombs he will had receive 4 or 5 from Gamboa, which could b the difference, in any case it will b a war, Gamboa is not a counter puncher and will move forward all the time, same with Lopez, IMO whoever can take the opponents punch will b the winner.

His chin is questionable. This could prove to be a serious problem as he steps up the comp.

Gamboa is the goods. He has everything. His "problem" is that sometimes he takes risks, but then again, if he didn't, people would be calling him a runner.

both gamboa and lopez both take big risks in their fights and get knocked down, the only thing you can bet on is that it will probably not be a decision fight, but if you were to ask me I think lopez takes it early because both these guys come out swinging.
