I'm not convinced with Gamboa.

If that were the case then wouldn't Macho Camacho be the greatest? Probably the fastest boxer p4p

What are you talking about compadre? Gamboa has probably the fastest hands in boxing, along with an incredible punch output, combined with great power and incredible athleticism. Don't forget that he comes from the Cuban boxing school, ( considered the best in the World ) and is also an Olympic Gold medalist, 3 times World Amateur Champion and around 4 times Cuban National Champ with over 300 amateur bouts. :-(

The thing with Gamboa is that he sometimes get's bored in there and lowers his level of attack, but when he faces a real threat his level rapidly increases. Did you saw how he looked against Mtagwa? Pure speed, pure power, perfect accuracy and incredible combos on display, Lopez couldn't do none of that against the Tanzanian, he was almost knocked out in the 10th round... :-(

Gamboa has been highly critized for being knockdowned many times but all those have been flash knockdowns and never ever hurt. As a matter of fact, 2 of those knockdowns were not legit ( against Esteban de Jesus and against Marcos Ramirez ), and Gamboa has never been dazzed or wabbled by those. Gamboa get's too confident in there and gets caught and touches the floor with a hand but that's not considered a devastating knockdown ( unlike Trinidad's ), and he has tremendous recuperation powers.

Just watch him get rid of Jorge Solis in March, ( and Solis has only been stopped once by Pac ), after that fight you will have a better judgement of El Ciclón de Guantánamo. :good

What's kind of incredible about Gamboa to me is that he has all that Cuban training, and he still will throw defense to the wind from time to time just to mix it up. I'm really curious to see how his chin holds up as he goes up in weight and level of opposition. If he has a really, really good one like I hope he does, he can afford to keep fighting like he does because he's not going to find very many guys who can stand up to his arsenal. If he doesn't... guys like JuanMa will beat him.

Either way, he's fun to watch. Probably the only one of the new faces in the last couple years that I'm genuinely interested to watch.

Gamboa has corrected a few flaws from his earlier fights and I can't remember every seeing him going life or death in a fight, unlike Juanma who was out on his feet against Mtagwa.

His heart wasn't in question in that 12th round, in fact such was the one sided beating he took in that 12th round I scored in 10-8 which gave a final score of 113-113.

He was dropped against Concepcion as well.

Fastest hand in boxing? You just declared yourself a nuthugger. Cuban boxing school is considered one of the best AMATEUR school of boxing. Yes, if Cuba allow their boxers to go pro they would have a lot more champions. But they also would have a lot less medals. Those are facts of life. Cuba amateur boxers are not really amateur. That is what they do for a living. They are fed, dressed, and well taken care of. NOt like in many other countries. In most countries, even professional boxers have jobs beside boxing. I remember two right now. Carlos Quintana worked at a gas station while being a pro boxer. BEFORE BUYING HIS OWN. John John Molina worked for the Puerto Rico Telephone Company at the same time he was a pro boxer.

Gamboa Vs. Esteban de Jesus?????? You need to stop smoking that weed!!!!!

Unlike Trinidad??? Are you ****ing serious??? Trinidad didn't lose ntil he fought at a weight were he never belonged. How many times Tito got up to KO his opponents??? Bringing Trinidad into this is absolutely ******ed.

Gamboa is good. Very good. He might very well beat Lopez. I still no convinced by any of them

i like him. ****ing quick, nice combination punching, great power, nice footwork, seemingly endless bag of tricks...

So he gets dropped every now and then...oh ****ing well.

I strongly favor him against Lopez. Strongly.

I feel Lopez definitely has more power. I favour him here. He may be hurt fairly easily but Lopez has shown a ****load of determination in the Mtagwa and Marquez fights and refuses to be put down for the count. I actually think he has quite a good chin. Lopez is gigantic as well, and is a very physical fighter. The only real advantage Gamboa has is speed and athleticism, but that could be all he needs to win.

I really don't know, it is really hard to measure speed in boxing, I'm not saying Gamboa is the faster of them all, but he is really fast, faster than Lopez and a few others, camacho was fast but he was a runner, most of the time, I like the guy, we met back in Jersey in a nightclub just like my man Medal from Jersey City, he was very quite and young he seems to that he was out of place, he was 126-30 at the time, just afte he fought Cubanito Perez.

Trinidad loss to DLH, the only ppl that didn't c it that way was the blind judges, you have to consider that Gamboa has only a handful of fights and we talk about him a lot, he is already a belt holder and getting better, like I said in another post ,the one that can take the punch better, will b the winner. YG has been down a few times some legit others phantoms, misses by the ref. but never seems hurt and he had take some that should had put him on the floor, and never flinch. Juanma although not been down that much, only twice I think, he has been hurt, a lot, Mtagawa a few times during the fight, Marquez a least twice in 7 rounds, Bernabe a couples of time including that vicious knockdown, so I'll ask this question, do you rather be Gamboa or Lopez? Who has endure more punishment and been hurt more, Gamboa? or Lopez?
