Is Saul Alvarez the real deal? As I've stated before, Austin Trout is overrated. He lost to Canelo. Before, it was Mosley... We all know he's expired!

He's a damn good fighter. IMO, he does seem to have some stamina issues. I thought he looked gassed by round 7 of the Trout fight. Now if he looks just as tried versus Floyd, care to take a guess what wil be said on the ESB fourms..."HE WAS WEIGHT-DRAINED!!!"

    SMH!!!

He's obviously decent & has lots of potential, but I'm still waiting to be really impressed.

All I see is a guy with decent power in both hands, good balance, but not a lot of speed and poor ring generalship.

At some point, you have to stop saying "but he's still really young..." and look at where he's at right now.

^ That's the problem with the catchweight. If Canelo loses, it tells us nothing because we'll never know if it was due to being drained.

Of course, if Canelo somehow manages to herd Floyd into a corner and take him out, it would be the ultimate statement, but the chances of that happening are mighty slim.

Obviously he's talented but I'm afraid of his lack of experience.

He can't box that great. We saw that in the Gomez bout.

If Floyd boxes smart, this should be an easy payday for him.

His defense is greatly improved, that's obvious. He has a fluidity in his upper body movement that wasn't there before. Don't make me cue that Beauty and the Beast tune.

he is the best fighter at 154 a division floyd cant even make weight for. he is also easily the toughest opponent floyd could face at this point..

I thought Alfonso "The Contender" Gomez schooled Canelo, but Canelo's power saved him. As it has before.

Floyd is about 1000x the boxer Gomez is. I have a feeling Canelo is going to be wishing he didn't make this fight come September.

You mean the division he made weight for in 2007 to fight De La Hoya in? You know, when he weighed 150 pounds.

The distance from a Trout to Mayweather is a big leap. He seems keen on establishing his place P4P.

I had Gomez up too, but it looks like he was trying things out in that fight, and like I said, he's improved. He doesn't stand there static in a shitty Philly Shell when pressured, he moves at the waist and circles.

I cant get excited very much about Floyd-Canelo after what I saw in Canelo-Gomez. It was sad.

I'm sure Canelo is better, but that was eye opening, how bad he looked.

Floyd could stop him, watch Canelo against Mosley in defense:

I rated highly Saul long time but he shouldn't fight Mayweather next. It's always all about the money. :(
