I'm not sold with Kovalev dominating Ward

IMO I think Ward is the worst possible opponent for Kovalev. I like Kovalev but I don't think he will do well against a slick opponent like Ward.

Not that he can't win with his KO power, but I don't think he should be in a rush to fight Ward.

Hopkins is slicker and trickier and more awkward than Ward and Kovalev outboxed him. Kovalev will do the same to Ward. And KO him.

Kovalev is the very definition of a Boxer-Puncher. The guy has a size advantage, never gets outboxed, has knock out power and moves around well. Andre Ward will never go to 175 as long as Beterbiev and Kovalev are there.

Hopkins is 49 years old. Chad Dawson beat him in a blowout before that.

I don't think you can compare Hopkins to Ward in any way whatsoever.

Hopkins at 175 can defeat Ward... Wards best win was against a non-technical Carl Froch who wins his fights by having an iron chin and a heart made of steel, complimented by two steel fists.

Box4Life, you are talking about someone that fought Kessler, Abraham and Froch.

I think Ward will seek out the biggest challenges soon.

Kovalev can keep distance and nullify Ward's duck-n-rush , and throw long hard shots to the body with either hand which nullifies a good bit of Wards AAA class upper body movement.

Without either of those attributes of Wards being key cornerstones of his fight game, he will be at a severe disadvantage against any top shelf comp. KOvalev is all wrong for Ward stylistically.

Keep on playing Ward cheap but don't bet against him or you might find your pockets a little lighter after the fight. Ward is not slick, what he is, is well balanced and technically sound with the ability to think and adjust. He is a handful at 175 and a nightmare at 168. Kovalev is not a shoo in to beat Ward.
