Anytime a WBA Title holder unifies with a Titlist with any other belt they "promote" the WBA "regular" champion to the WBA "super" Champion to ensure 1) The WBA belt can never be unified 2) they get two "Champions" paying them sanctioning fees. Haye was going to unify so they promoted him to "Super" Champion (the cheesy red, white, blue Ring ripoff looking belt) Klychko wins and wins the super title and the WBA Regular title becomes vacant so 1 and 2 Chagaev and Povetkin fight for that and voila, another WBA champion. At MW they hav Sturm as Super, Golovkin as Regular, and N'jikam as Interm so they have 3 guys paying them sanctioning fees in 1 division alone. ****ing criminals. Occasionally they seems to hand out the "super" title for no reason though like to Ward or Moreno.
SUPER CHAMPION UPGRADE TO THE RESCUE! But seriously. Before the Wlad-Haye fight, you can see that Haye's belt has miraculously become the vaguely RING belt looking WBA Super Champion belt. So they upgraded Haye since the winner would be a unified champion and thus freed up their stupid ass, empty regular title.
Do the WBA list him as "Super" champion or "Unified" champion? (They did have Gamboa as "Unified" and John as "Super")
I'm just waiting for Wlad to be upgraded to super duper champion. WBA is a ****ing joke. Infact all sanctioning bodies are complete and utter bull****. With the WBC getting sued for taking titles off legitimate champions and the IBF leaving number 1 mandatory challenger rankings vacant until someone can come up with a big enough bribe to rank their fighter there. They're all ****ing jokes, why any champion would pay a fraction of their purse to these corrupt ass wipes is beyond me.
This lot can have a standard champ, a super-champ and a champion emeritus. They are one organisation that can have three champions. It's a dog with rabies basically, of no further use to anyone and the cause of no amusement but to itself.
