I'm now a huge fan of Tarver cause...

I was impressed with Tarver also, he does seem to hold back a bit and stay overly neutral, but if he's just starting it's best to settle into it before he starts firing off opinions.

He's a million times better than the likes of Foreman ..

 

Glad someone mentioned Flores - I've only seen him a bit, but he seemed quite good. Not sure what he's doing in his boxing career...

Hopkins can talk, sure, but he always seems to have an agenda to me and I don't think he could be counted on to be anything remotely resembling unbiased. He'd also need a strong partner to keep him in check in case of rambling.

 

Tarver said "Carl Crotch," and Boo Radley immediately became his biggest fan:bananamaniac

 

Tarver has natural broadcast ability. Not the best voice, but he expresses his ideas very well.

Hopkins has great things to say, but getting all those Philly marbles out of his mouth might be a lost cause. I don't personally care how he sounds, but "nuts in dey face" is a tough sell on a premium network.

 

I'm sorry, but Hopkins' commentating sucks compared to Tarver's. He just states the obvious most of the time, and half the time he just says things to push GBP fighters.

 

I have a hard time looking at Tarver talk out the side of his face.

Hopkins was ok, he doesn't thrill me and HE tends to be self involved.

Briggs was surprisingly good. I'm still waiting for him to replace Atlas for good.

 

I always thought Joe Mesi should be a commentator.

 

Also, people would cancel their subscription like they move to the next city when Chad is fighting. The best thing for Showtime would be using Dawson as an undercover agent at HBO to complely ruin Time Warner. ****, he can be even used to break up peace or social demonstrations or get rid of traffic jams.
