I remember David Stern laughably claiming that PEDs wouldn't work in basketball because of the skillset required. One of the chemists involved with studying PEDs and drugs said "of course they help, everything can help in some way!" Many are recovery drugs so your body can recover faster when you get hurt or are dealing with exhausting training sessions. EPO is for stamina. LOL, how does increased stamina not help you in sports?

It's not the 1970s anymore, people are past that "steroids just made you big and slow" nonsense. Although people in the NFL and MLB juiced plenty in the 1970s.

And PEDs did help his power. He was punching hard at welterweight. Nothing crazy, but he was about midpack for punching power. Without PEDs, he would have been above Paulie, but below midpack.
