I'm now convinced that prime Joe Louis may have stopped AJ

While watching Joshua/Parker I thought to myself "Hmmm, what if Louis, what with his handspeed and counter punching had been in there with AJ"?

Joshua has had 21 fights and the first 15 or so opponents were there, quite frankly, as punching bags. He's still quite green in my view and learning on the job. This fight was the best thing for him - he got some rounds in the bank against a guy who was durable enough to take his punches.

To me, it was almost a Klitschko-like performance. It wasn't fun to watch, but it was a useful learning experience. Unfortunately, these learning experiences are taking place on a massive stage and are under huge scrutiny.

In a different era, he'd be in line for a title shot, not the holder of 3 or 4 different world titles. Any talk of his place amongst the greats or comparing him to the likes of someone like Joe Louis is just too soon.

You're what? You've just seen how hard it was for Parker who is a fast puncher to land on Joshua. Louis is 2 inch shorter and has a shorter reach.

Louis would stop Joshua, Wilder and any other of today's HW's.

Joshua has a way to go before we can start matching him against Louis, and I don't think he is retiring any time soon, so we can afford to wait.

There's also a very good chance Joshua knocks out Lewis, AJ's resume is very good for the amounts of fights he's had.

It is ,I can't dispute that .I've got confidence in the lad .Still think Lewis beat's him ,but saying that he may prove in time that he s the greatest British heavy ever .

Really? You do know that to be that he will have to be ranked higher than Lewis and since there are a lot of people that rank Lewis as maybe top 3 or top 5 ATG heavyweight, does that mean you think Joshua will be a top 3 ATG heavyweight or maybe even higher?

Like I said though, maybe one day .He's got a good few years and opponents to go through. Lewis ,when he lost to McCall lost a lot a credibility. No body at that point would have called him a great ,but he proved over time he was. Joshua may be KO'd in one by Wilder and lose rest of his fight s ,who knows ?
    But time ll tell .

Lewis did definitely. He proved at the end of his career he was a great fighter. As of now I'd put money on lewis stopping Joshua before ten .

The idea to even compare a fighter with limited skills like Parker to Joe Louis is ludicrous.

No he hasn't got limited skills at all, how would a plodder like Louis close the gap and avoid getting sparked out.
