It's true. Like the Langford thing. His answer to the question "will you rematch Langford" seems to be dependant on what Langford had said in the press that week, how much he needed money at that given point and what his mood was like.

Jeffries' usual size and strength advantage would only be marginal against Johnson, who i think would win a lot of rounds and bust Jeffries up badly. For me, the determining factor in this bout is how many rounds are scheduled. The more, the better Jeffries' chances are, but even at that, i wouldn't be surprised if he gets stopped before the 25th, regardless of the limit.

I did not want to argue about the drug, if you would have understood i only mentioned it because i thought it to be interisting.A doctor took a blood sample directly after the fight and then a few days later or someething like that, supposebly they both showed poisen and the docter was bewilderd.I shouldnt have mentioned that i even reAd it now several will make it into a poisen thread.
MY MAIN POINT IS IVE HEARD OF SO MANY OLD FIGHTERS JIM FOUGHT AND SOME THAT JOHNSON FOUGHT AND EXPERTS AND REFS,SAY THE OLD JIM WOULD HAVE BEATEN JACK.AND I KNOW SOME WILL SAY IT WAS A (RACES) THING BUT HES EVEN BEAT SOME WHO BEAT JOHNSON.AND IT WAS NOWERE NEAR THE HULKING,CLEVER,FAST SKILLED MAN THAT HAD FOUGHT 6 YEARS BEFORE.

I dont understand why jeffs speed and power is never mentioned only his size, even his skill to one refs amazement when the ref said (to my amazement jeffries was outboxing the master boxer corbett-you seen none of this in the johnson fight.how would he be rememberd without the comeback everyone pushed him into,he was even harrassed by his church. Someone mentioned jeffries saidhe would have even lost in his prime,he also said if he would have been in his prime the outcome might have been diff. and that if his head had been straight he might have whipped him that day, wither it was dehydration, poisen, heat or what- he said something was definatly wrong. But you cant go by the oldtimers quotes, they often said he would have wipped me or he was the greatist unlike todays big headed pricks they were overly modest.

I just can't see Jeffries beating Johnson, I also think Johnson's confrontational nature is vastly exagerated, even if he was like Joe Louis the public would want his blood, that was the time. But then again I'd like to see the context of that quote

Oh and Im back with that chick, we've broke up about 10 times now and I do need a new avvie but havent been assed to go and luck for 1, might look for a burley 1 or something

    Who knows ?

That being siad, are there any recorded meetings between the two in all the years following their bout ... It was 36 years until Johnson's death ... just curious ?

I think Louis might stop Rocky on cuts.

Jeffries was a shitton better in his champion days. Who's to say who would have beaten who, prime-for-prime? I'd lean towards Jeffries.
