Yep totally agree, doesn’t seem like the same guy who was calling out Golovkin?i mean if it’s cause of an injury then fair enough, guess we’ll find out soon enough if and when if ends up fighting one of the names in the division.
Word was that he was a big guy for the weight, well if that’s the case Zurdo doesn’t look to have much power, kinda like Callum Smith who looks massive at 168 but equally as feather fisted lol.

How on earth has he got 40 fights on his record, that’s mind blowing for someone who now hardly fights twice in a year lol.
Canelo would beat the brakes off Zurdo I reckon.

i never really saw anything special in him, hes good as a gauge for better fighters, but he was never going to be a dominant champ.

At the time of the world boxing tournament when it became clear he wasn’t in it,Michael Montero did a vid about it saying Bob Arum had other plans for him and was looking at the long game for him as appose to throwing him in that tourney.
Long game is fine, just as those like Lomo and Taylor who done the short game, thing is you have to step up eventually and in Zurdo case it looks like Bob Arum doesn’t know what to do with him.
He’s now on a par with Andrade for the forgotten talent.

Actually I was never a fan of Stretchy during his fighting days, it was only when I saw him turn his hand to thespianism in this film that I warmed to him.

Classic scene from a classic film.

Arum probably figured Zurdo would get blown out in the quarter finals of the super series, which would have crippled his earning power.

The "long game" is to keep padding his record, then cash out next year, against either the series winner, or Benavidez. - Whichever fight can generate more dollars.

Sadly, this has become a standard business model in pro boxing.

Yes and it does seem to be that those with the WBC belt can live off fighting cans forever it would seem,Wilder,Stevenson to name but a few.

Paddy Consedine what a perfectly good hard guy he played in that film, each time I watch that film I forget that his brother isn’t really there lol.
Based on how we all know of some awful, tragic events from our youth that go unpunished.
In my town Colne in Lancashire there was this lad pushed into a septic tank and as such he’s never been right with the mental age of a child and all those idiots who were there all went unpunished for it.

Yeah he was brilliant in it. He was also brilliant in A Room For Romeo Brass (which is also another great film by Shane Meadows).

I'd rather post one of the other scenes from it but I'm not sure if it's safe to do so

That's horrible. Poor guy. That's one of the reasons why I love a good revenge flick. If someone did something like that to one of my loved ones I'd definitely ''give 'em a super-duper ******* dose and send 'em to space'' and administer some of the justice to them that those guys got in that film lol

Yeah so sad his older brother a very handy lad was torn between sticking up for him or being embarrassed as he was similar to the brother in the film, even worse and again like the film, they’d give him drugs which made him worse and then would get locked up and couldn’t hack it in a normal jail so I believe he’s now in a special hospital and his brother does visit often.
All this happened on a council estate other side of town,I kid you not as a teenager when I first saw that place I was terrified as it was Dead mans Shoes personified lol, that film is dead real.
