If he lands a bomb, he'll get credit for me, but keep things in perspective. Stiverne is no proven world beater himself, and his claim to fame is beating Arreola twice. That's far more than Wilder has accomplished. So we'll see.

Wilder has the size and power to land, but his struggles against cab drivers and bar tenders suggests Stiverne should be able to evade such punches - at least long enough to land a solid shot of his own.

I'm still undecided who I'm rooting for in the fight.

Boxing in America would salivate over a well spoken, undefeated heavyweight fighter/champ with great knockout power.
But, he has done nothing whatsoever to deserve this opportunity.

I'm probably going to bet on Stiverne. The line has been inching up this week. My book had it at +135 today. I'm hoping it hits +150 by fight time and I'll jump on it.

I get what your saying but like I said, dont make excuses now. if Wilder wins give him his due!!

We all know this is CLEARLY THE BEST FIGHTER WILDER HAS EVER FACED!! Maybe he falls striahg ton his face then back to the drawing board, maybe he shows skills against a top fighter and KO's Stiverene nasty.

    we shall see

America doesn't need a can crushing paper title holder.

Definitely not. If he's the best we can do, I'd rather Wlad rule with an iron fist until he's 50.

I agree. If that's the supposed resurrection boxing in the US they can keep it.

To be fair though, maybe he means Klitschko-Wilder. Because if Wilder wins, that fight is juicy.

Maybe you dont think so but America does. and BOXING NEEDS THIS TOO! YDKSAB if you dont think the HW championship is not the best title of all.

Like my grandpa told me a few weeks ago. there was a time where u can walk into a store and just ask anybody in there "Who's the HW champ of the world" and they would know the answer like it was nothing.

Thats what boxing needs again. we been on the little guys for the last 10 years, need some HW title fights!! That'll get more MMA fans watching too.

oh yeah but it doesnt happen unless he wins this fight first. then KO Fury sorry self and Wald fight this winter for all the Marbles. man that would be one of the biggest fights in a long time. the hype of a possible 34-0 34KO vs 62-3 55KO's.

    MAN O MAN

Why would I make excuses? I have no horse in this race and recognize it as nothing more than a paper title in any case. My feeling is that Stiverne will win, but I acknowledge that Wilder has the power to end it early if he can land flush with something big first.

The only thing that would surprise me in this fight is a lopsided points win for Wilder, in the 9-3/10-2 range or better. That would shock me and would bring praise from me if that happened (even if haters started predictably saying his power was overrated, or whatever).

If Wilder wins, I wouldn't mind Wilder-Fury either.

Yes that would be good, and despite the article on the front page that says Fury wouldn't risk it, I think he would. Fury called out Deontay before only to be ducked, and Fury claiming the WBC belt would give him far more leverage with Wlad in a unification as opposed to being only a WBO mando. It would be the HUGE fight in the UK that Haye never delivered on.
