I thought he was good.. but its not about that....

I dont like being lied to... that means people are insulting my intelligence

odlh & others are insulting "OUR" intelligence as fans when they try to just sit on their throne and deem someone "next".... its the fighters who are to deem who is truly "next"

You should get used to it . . . DLH was proven wrong again. How many times already did he proclaimed something that blew up on his face?

Its funny that you say that because after the Ortiz's performance I was just thinking to myself...Why the hell do fighters like Ortiz,Cotto, Berto get so much exposure and carefully matched careers? Why not market the guy that is a tough opponent and very risky to fight. Yeah and I know that numbers are everything but if you build up a fighter hell bring in the dough!

Golden Boy needs to get behind fewer Mexican/American pretty boys and more great boxers. Bad business model they have in place.

We should consider cutting him some slack for his post fight comments. After all, he's a 22-year-old kid who just got the stuffing beaten out of him. He reacted like someone who was in shock and therefore made statements that were detrimental to his future status as a top flight fighter.

It seems to me so much of this is modern. Ortiz fought a war and can rematch and fight another. If this was the lighter weights I don't think it would be as much of an issue. 140-147 brings a lot of cash into the picture. So much so, that a rematch or great trilogy is often highly unlikely.

CO-SIGN. but its like my trainer always said... boxing is not a great way to earn a living. it is a harsh, brutal way of life. you really need that passion and that mentality that you are indefinitely going to sacrifice your health and safety to do what you love and be the best. if it's what you REALLY want to do, you can ****in go for it and if you have the talent and heart you can go far in the sport. if not, don't bother.
