Arum wants Gamboa - Lopez to be a superfight. You gotta let it come to the boil. And so Arum can probably sell it in a stadium.

    All in good time.

I want Lopez vs Cabellero first as it is the only competitive fight in that mix, in my opinion. Gamboa is simply too good for either Lopez or Cabellero and it would be quite one-sided...

Gotta throw Chris John into that mix as well, he wont be a walkover for any of those guys.

Indeed. Arum wants it at Meadowlands (the new Giants stadium) late next year. It's very tempting:yep.

Agreed. Although I was really impressed with Juanma's win over Luevano, I just think Gamboa is too good for him. Caballero-Gamboa isn't happening now apparently because Caballero demanded too much, so Rojas (the WBC holder) is probably next for Gamby:happy.

No more Super-Six series please :-( The novelty of this one was the attraction but 2 years is too long; withdrawals, like Jermain Taylor's affects the credibility of the competiton and fighters like Lucien Bute will be denied great fights for the duration simply because they weren't signed up in the beginning.

If we are to have tournements have 8 guys in a straight knock-out over a year.

But you'll never get guys to sign up for that. When they're guaranteed to get a set number of top fights like in Super 6 its a much more attractive prospect.

Look at the Super 6, Dirrell would have been knocked out in the first round, and Kessler, Froch would be gone now. But all these guys are still in the mix and we still have top class fights with them to look forward to. Fights that mean even more than the earlier rounds, which will make them even more exciting.

It's going to take longer for the Super 6 to decide who's the King, but along the way we have 6 elite fighters mixing it on a regular basis, nothing else in the sport offers that at the moment.

    **** Bute

you can't judge the sucess of the super 6 until it finishes. The champions league Knock out stages are a bit tedius but they are needed to seperate the eltite from the rest.

Personally the Super 6 results have proven a straight knock out in boxing doesn't work. If it were straight knock out Andre Dirrell and Mikkell Kessler would already have been eliminated. In a way the worst thing for the super 6 is if Andre Ward were to lose to Allan Green, then you have 6 fighters that have all lost and Bute as a clear number 1 in the division by default.

If we had a Super 8 knock out with

    Froch vs Dirrel
    Abraham vs Taylor
    Ward vs Kessler
    Green vs Bute

in the semi finals we would have 2 fighters in Froch and Abraham, are they better than Kessler and Dirrell?

a better format would be to split the 6-8 into 2 leagues. Then have them all fighter eachother and the winners have a final or the top two have a semi final.

3 fights would still take over a year. elite fighters dont fight more then twice a year now.

Yep we should just let the best boxers fight one decent opponent a year and make the rest of the time up fighting no hopers.

Caba and Gamboa both beat JuanMa IMO.

Chris John is an enigma; injured or ill all the time, fights with Juarez were competitive enough to prove he's not unbeatable (fight with Marquez was close but extremely dull; couldn't be arsed to re-watch it and score it). Yet with his ability he could no doubt beat Gamboa, Caba and JuanMa. Just not sold on him completely, as much as I appreciate his attributes. Appears to gas late as well.

Gamboa vs Caba is the best fight out of all of them. Watching Gamboa trying to get inside the high-volume punching awkwardness of Celestino and let his speedy bombs fly will be extremely intriguing IMO.

    I never said that...:nono

I just think the Super Six concept is flawed and would happily accept, as Rob suggested, two groups of 3 with the top 2 going into semi-finals and so forth...
