I'm saying it now, Wilder is the hardest hitting HW of all time.

Hi again mate, the type of posters I am talking about don't actually go into details regarding physical or styistic attributes, strengths and weaknesses. They simply parrot stuff about " modern 230 pound plus super heavyweights " as though an extra ten pounds of lard or even muscle for that matter makes one a better fighter.

I had a guy telling me that Oliver McCall was an example of these new 230 plus pounds heavyweights that would have been a step beyond for Ali and Holmes.

There is a lot of difference in a prime Lennox or Wlad weighing 240 lbs with their height to guys like Ortiz weighing that much. To me Ortiz looks very similar in size to Ali. Around 6 ft 3, a reach around 78-80 inches and very broad shoulders.

Its all about the body fat percentage and Ortiz did have love handles.

    Cheers Mate.

Foreman himself was a natural 230 pounder at 19 in the amateurs weighed 229 and post Ali he weighed between 226 and 232 in the late 70s and george said that he did not touch a weight in the 70s but the first time that he did push ups was in 1976 for the lyle fight. So this afirmation is laughable

Yep, George was trained down to 220 by Saddler and Moore in what I would say was a misguided attempt to assist George with his stamina.

If I had trained him I reckon around 230 would have been perfect for a 15 round fight.

    Cheers.

Yep, if he had to go 15 rounds in say Zaire or Manila I reckon around 217-220 would be his right weight.

Hey Rez, to me Ortiz looked exhausted after 7 rounds. When you consider the fact that the first four rounds were fought at a pretty glacial pace it was pretty disappointing that the Cuban was basically completely outta gas after the seventh round.

I do agree that he can fight, he is a very skilled guy with good power but geez he has a few major flaws.

Wilder right hand is lethal definitely in top 10. He is tall and lanky
like Bob Foster , Thomas Hearns , Sandy Saddler . However Wilder
does have a history of hand problems. I just hope his main weapon
doesn't let him down if he fights Joshua etc like Hearns ( broken right
    hand ) did against Hagler.

Yeah. I don't think he is a top class ATG, but he is a boogeyman that poses a serious threat to any HW imo.

I wouldn’t jump to believing Wilder is the hardest hitting Heavyweight of all time, just yet - but, that righthand of his is a get out of jail free card, for sure.

Wow the hype train is even bigger than I thought...

    Toot toot!!

He hits pretty hard but the hardest ever?? No.. Unless Ortiz has a Tua like chin (maybe he has) because he took a fair few flush shot before he finally went down and he was pretty much spent trying to get Wilder out of there in the 7th...

Moorer had gone down hard from single punches before. Another big myth is that it was the only power punch George landed. He had been landing shots just like the one he knocked him out with periodically throughout the fight. Several stiff punches every round. Not enough to win the rounds but they accumulated and his very mediocre punch resistance gave out after the 10th round of ignoring his trainer and standing in front of 40lb larger George.

George himself said in the post fight interview that he slowly chopped him down. "Nobody could take that punishment for 12 rounds. I had to go out there and punish punish punish."
So no that doesn't demonstrate 1 punch KO power at ALL

It's all documented if one knows their boxing history. Obviously you don't, or are trolling. Or both.
