I'm saying this right now: Andre Ward is the 3rd best fighter in the world.

Andre is a topclass boxer and will keep proving so until he's the very best in the world

Agreed- and to put him at #3- ahead of guys like JMM, or Sergio martinez at this point is silly.
P4P he may not even be top 10 (yet) and HTH I see a lot of people in and around his weight giving him trouble. does he have the strength to keep Antonio Margorito's honest? Does he have the chin that can soak up Miguel Cotto's left hook ? Can he get up after Miguel Cotto pulls out of his liver with a bodyshot? He hasn't been tested enough for me to say he is the heir to the p4p throne. He will, admittedly, be a very fun prospect to watch and see just how far short or long of your statement he will come!

Guy has a ton to prove before this should be considered.

He has one great win over a top ranked fighter in Kessler.

    For perspective:

Martinez just handed the Middlweight Champion Pavlik and p4p ranked Williams their asses.

You think Ward will beat the double AA battery himself? NO ****ING WAY, PETER! The Double AA Battery is like the energizer bunny, baby. He just keeps going and going. You can't outpoint him when he's not distracted by screeching women, which aren't allowed in Germany.

JM Marquez, Martinez, Montiel, Lopez are all way ahead of Ward who the minute he steps out of Oakland will be in trouble.

Despite the racist undertones of the above post. I think the poster may be on to something. Yes, Dawson caught a bad break in his fight but it was his fault. Yes, one great punch took out Paul Williams but he still got caught. The Dirrell comments were uneccesary and offensive no reason for that. But, Ward is being pushed as the future of boxing by many especially showtime and despite his talent which is on par with a Mayweather and Ward is more skilled than Pacman he hasn't beaten anyone yet. Personally, I think Ward has no problem with any super middleweight but let's see him prove me right before we annoint him the best in the game.

I was honestly impressed with the way he handled Bika's pressure.

He has a good inside game even if most of it involves headbutting, forearm shivering and clinching.

I would say that he is much, much more developed than Dawson. Haven't seen how he would handle someone like Dirrell though. Too bad Dirrell ****ed that fight off.
