I think you are fooling yourself as well as others, Antwuan, Mosley repeatedly banged the drum to Estrada's body with accurate lefts as early as the 4th and that had him holding on, hammered on him with rights in the 7th that had him almost collapsing onto himself had he not been a tough guy... Against Vargas, Mosley was far faster and versatile than your post is supposed to suggest - Vargas beaten so many times with the right that his left eye grostesque swelling only is beaten by Rahman's alien head vs Holyfield, and Vargas dropped by one shot in the rematch which also was one-sided until the sixth ( Vargas only beaten previously by Hoya in 11 and Tito in 12, 26-4, 22 KOs)... 25 year old slickster southpaw Louie Collazo was expected to outpunch Shane but lost 11 rounds to 2... It's no coincidence that you talk about Vargas as shop worn, Collazo as injured, and mention Manny's comment to Shane against Cruz cause the same Manny said about Shane at the end of the Collazo fight "Shane handled him, is faster and more fluid as a welterweight, sharp enough and too experienced and expect him be the first at this age to become Champion again" Check it out and talk to your friend Dorf, Antwuan, we can spend all week long talking about those fights since we both have seen them and we can both clear M.I.G.'s mind.

Mosley is shot. PERIOD. Keep on thinking he's resurrected because he beat Collazo and Vargas. Proof is in his record. 4 losses and hasn't knocked anyone who wasn't shot out in years.

Cotto TKO as much as I like Shane, he is getting destroyed.

    Moesley vs Cruz scorecards:

    CJ Ross 97-93
    Chuck Giampa 96-94
    Dwayne Ford 98-92
Harold Lederman had 9 rounds to 1 Shane.
Shane stats vs Cruz: 114 powerpunches out of 251 ( 45% connect rate), 173 total punches out of 452 thrown ( 38% connect rate)

Comments " Shane won all the first 8 rounds, Cruz lost every round but the 10th and runs around the ring in celebrations"

    Mosley vs Vargas II:

    After the 4th round - Mosley : 50 punches laded out of 80 thrown ( 63% connect rate), Vargas 30 out of 112 (27%)

Comments: " Shane sets up a potential fight with Floyd Mayweather with a sensational knockout - over the rainbow pot of Gold"

    Mosley vs Collazo scorecards:

    Adelayde Byrd: 119-108
    Dwayne Ford:118-109
    Nabuaky Uratani:118-109

    ...
Collazo may have gotten an injury but threw more and didn't land in double figures from round 1 until round 6, Shane outfought him all the way.

Shane's record - 260 amateur fights since 9 years old of age
    Pro record 44-4, 36 KOs
    at 135 pounds: 32-0, 30 KOs
    at 147 pounds: 9-2, 5 KOs
    at 154 pounds: 3-2, 1 KO & 1 NC
    Losses in rematches:
    vs Forrest
    Scorecards: UD by 115-113 scorecards
    vs Wright (MD to Wright)
    Scorecards - Hubert Earle - 114-114
    Dwayne Ford - 115-113 Wright
    Tommy Kazcmarek - 115-113 Wright

Cotto's opposition at 147 pounds - Carlos Quintana, Oktay Urkal and Zab Judah

Mosley's opposition at 147 pounds - Wilfredo Rivera, Willy Wise, Oscar De La Hoya, Shannan Taylor, Vernon Forrest, Antonio Diaz, Adrian Stone, Jose Luis Cruz, David Estrada, Luis Collazo

As much as BoxingGuru likes Miguel Cotto to DESTROY Shane Mosley, Shane is not shot. Proof is in his record cause knock-outs don't prove anything and Cotto's opposition at 147 pounds ain't better than Shane's. Period.

Great post man, numbers speak for themself, Ill be rooting at the edge of my seet for Mosley. But even if Cottos style suits Mosley best, I still believe it wont be an easy task to win this one for Shane.

Man, I hold no grudge against Cotto but truth be told, they can't ease down their anxiety by way of proclaiming that Shane is shot. Many and in particular Sugar Ray Leonard have told the truth when Shane came back to 147 pounds from 154 pounds at age 33 ( 3 years ago) to fight David Estrada ( who had one loss to Ishe Smith, ranked #9 by ESPN.com and The Ring) and that could be hard to do but the same Sugar Ray turned around on his speech after 5 rounds... So I see no reason for Antwuan Max to invoke Shane's performances to favour Cotto's chances. Cotto was said to lose against slick lefty Quintana by some and then, by Judah and still he proved them wrong, good for him. Shane was also said to lose against slickster lefty Collazo but that didn't happen so I guess there's no reason to bring back some points of those fights as much as Cotto's against these and Torres, Corley, Malignaggi... But if they want to, I am ready to put those fights into written words and quotes.
Happens that I have no expectations concerning this or that fighter. Cotto may start using the intensity of his boxing and youth to outfight Shane and Shane may not be able to match his whole round activity to have a good chance ( yes, age could be a factor) - that is one thing very different from saying that he's shot - Cotto threw 313 power punches against Urkal (for 11 rounds) and landed 168 ( 54% connect rate), landed a total of 223 out of 505 ( 44%), Shane threw 378 power punches against Collazo (for 12 rounds) and landed 173 punches (46% connect rate) and landed 200 out of a total of 601 ( 33% connect rate for Total punches) Shane 154 lbs/Cotto 159 lbs at fight night (unofficially) so where's the difference to say that Shane is shot??? Do they have data on Shane's pulse, blood pressure under stress factors, power ( in kN in S.I. units or kgf in the metric system)? All cognitive stuff, perceptions, they gat jack and ****, jack left town!...
I can easily see Shane outspeeding Cotto as the guy starts off slowly, putting rounds in the bag and making it an easy, flat road for him and a hard, steep incline for Miguel... So I say, if you're sure Shane is getting destroyed, bet 3/4ths of your Vcash on Cotto and by kayo or else get outa here, money talks and BS walks!

Funny I'm seeing more posters picking Shane by mid to late KO or UD.....its a pretty 50/50 fight from a fans point of view.

One poster mentioned people are picking more with their heart than their mind. On paper I actually think Sugar will win though I fill in the ring Cotto will prevail. Everything is situational and I just have that feeling about Cotto.....last time I went with my gut I one a huge poker torn so I'm sticking with my gut again.

I think Cotto's youth, ruggedness, and power will be key in breaking down Mosley.

Mosley has been losing a step for awhile, and it'd take a great effort and him to lay it all out there to beat Cotto.

I see Mosley troubling Cotto for awhile, then Cotto breaking him down. Of course, that's almost EVERY Cotto fight, so it's not like I'm making any kind of grand prediction here.

I dont get this.Everyone repeats this same ol line Mosley has lost a step.Against WHO?!?! Did he look poor when he KO`ed Vargas twice? Did he look poor when he did a far better job on Collazo than Hatton did? His only ever looked poor twice in his career and even then he gave an excellent account of himself against much naturally bigger men in Vernon and Winky. The line is stale false and wholly inaccurate.

Well since Mosley is twice as powerful and quicker than Malinaggi who gave Cotto a fantastic fight staggering him in the 9th. Mosley Kos Cotto in the 10th. Cheers
