He's beat a Weight Drainned Oscar De La Hoya.. And.. Ricky Hatton, who fought like a complete ******. He does not belong at Welter Weight... Cotto will smash this guy up, within 5-6 rounds.
hmm says . . . it'll be a "great fight" don't cry wolf just yet even from past accolades... this fight will prove everything.
Yes. Everyone else will be blown away, but this time I'm calling it. Not that Pac has really shown us that he's even capable of handling a fighter like this, but he's shown enough glimpses to give me the confidence that he can. At least against a fighter like Cotto. He's simply too basic with too little standout attrubites in his arsenal to be able to handle Pacquiao's firepower, and the size difference is not quite what has been made out. Cotto's leaky defense, plodding footwork, and up-right style will make him target practice for Pacquiao after a few awkward, feeling out early rounds. Pacquiao TKO9 Cotto, if not earlier. Now let's hope this doesn't backfire right in my face.
i think many people will be shocked and singing sweet dixie when pacman takes cotto apart then challenges floyd for the all time P4P TITLE
If Floyd beats both Marquez and Pacquiao, he did what he was expected to. I'd favor him over both as of right now, even though I favor Pacquiao over Cotto. On the other hand, if Pacquiao beats Cotto and Floyd, he will have pushed himself into the upper echelon of all time greats. We're talking top 10 consideration. Coming from me, you guys know how much that is saying (not in a bragging way). As it is, I fully expect him to beat Cotto, but I figure he'll drop a decision something like 8-4 to Mayweather in a fight that will do nothing to diminish his legacy.
I sure hope you're right man. I do think Cotto's swiss cheese D will be his demise. That coupled with Manny's speed just might be the right combination for Pac. My main concern is Pac's punch resistance which till this day hasn't been fully tested in these higher weights. Should be interesting in every shape and form. You still frequent the other place?
Times have changed haven't they? As you said, coming from you that is a bit of a shock :good But I always knew you were objective even though at times misunderstood.
Oh the times, they are a changing. Pacquiao has become more than I ever thought possible, I will readily admit that. If he does indeed beat Cotto the way I think he should it just confirms my suspicions about his level as a fighter right now. Beating Floyd would be an unparalleled achievement in this day and age. I can't see it right now, but you never really know in the fight game.
There is a lot of hype for Pac but there is also a good reason why people think he will beat Cotto. Cotto closes distance slowly and fights patient and that is why Pac will get his time and space to use his speed and in and out style. If! Cotto presses Manny the way he did Quintana, Judan then he runs the risk of getting nailed with something big, Manny's hands can hit you 2/3 times before you even get into range, plus he can punch. Cotto also puts too much weight on lead foot, Manny will land behind the target with the left hand not on it. Cotto can win but i dont think everyone is picking him because he is being over hyped.
My sentiments exactly. I remember when a poster once asked what it would take for Pac to reach the top 10 and I blasted him like he was some kind of idiot. I honestly feel bad for that :verysad At this point I just want to sit back and enjoy the ride, it's not too often things like this happen.
