As anyone with a reasonable level of understanding of boxing will affirm the principle that a skilled smaller boxer will defeat a larger incompetent one.

    Yes. Section 106, row 19.

I paid way too much for nosebleed seats, but transferred to the lower bowl seats for $66 a piece once I got there. Thank you Stubhub.

The eye test is not an accurate measure of someone’s muscle mass. You can’t just look at him and say he’s 40% body fat. I’m not even sure you know what 40% body fat looks like.

Actually you can estimate and there are plenty of guides available online. And you are also using the eye test to guess Ruiz at 30% so you are contradicting yourself.

Also...you are totally wrong even if Ruiz is at 30% which I highly doubt given he has full on man boobs.

The lean mass of a 270 pound man at 30% body fat is 189 pounds.
The lean mass of a 200 pound man at 10% body fat is 190 pounds.

How do you figure Ruiz is carrying more muscle mass than a 10% 200 pounder?

Even then I don't buy that estimate as Ruiz clearly has smaller arms, legs, and true pectoral development than a guy like Bonavena. That's why I say 35% to 40% at best. Which would put his true lean mass at 175 or less. This makes sense.

Look at those rolls man...30% my ass.

Lol 10% of 200lbs is 20lbs leaving 180lbs of lean mass

    Take a lap.

Nice! Would have been nice to bump into an ESBer while witnessing a piece of Heavyweight History.

I took my girlfriend. She enjoyed it rather well.

One Third fat or so sounds right. Meaning maybe a bit over one seventy five LBM.
Bonavena would have a bit more muscle, significantly more when considering he is about four inches shorter than Ruiz.

But it did help him absorb punishment and not be moved much.

An obvious typo, but you can have it. Your silence on the main points of the post speaks volumes.

Yes, heights and limb length aren't even being considered here. Bonavena at 205 pounds is overall larger than Ruiz in every measure outside of belly and chest fat. The idea that Ruiz is a hulking muscle man buried under fat is just absurd, it doesn't work that way.

It's really hard to say, a lot of fat is around the legs, just how much varies between people, so you can't tell just from the upper body.

Being fatter also increases lean weight, it requires blood and connective rissue, but it's not bone or muscle, though you usually lpse muscle when you lose weight too.

I'd probably make it higher than a third for Ruiz, hard to tell though. You really need under water weughing or a dexa scan to tell.

So after all this Ruiz is talking about coming in 10 pounds or more lighter and benefiting -

“I will arrive in better condition…. lighter, faster and more powerful.
