I'm sorry but Cotto is not the warrior fans make him out to be.

It was clearly loaded. Have you seen Margarito handwrap photo after he tko Cotto? As far as this thread is concern, it's a ******ed thread by a dumb poster that is disrespecting a very good warrior in Cotto.

So based on that reasoning, Roberto Duran is not a warrior as well.

The beating that Cotto took is not even comparable.

Sometimes I am wondering if there is really a gray mater in your brain or just plain hatred or a pathetic excuse to bring down a fighter to make your God's resume shine bright.

I wonder if your idol, the great Mayweather, would take a knee too if he experi9ence that kind of beating?

Cotto ain't no *****.. But he does get overrated a bit by his fans.

I know all fighters get overrated, but people make emotional claims of how much they love him, and how everyone should love him if they're a true boxing fan, blah blah blah...

    He's just about done... I can't wait.

Cotto is a warrior enough, just not a Morales level warrior. Cotto is cautious regarding serious damage to his health as he said himself in the post fight interview of his Margarito bout.

It doesn't matter what people make him out to be, he's a warrior and proved it endless times. Look at the way he was still trying against Cotto, how he was still trying against a cheating tomato can with concrete in his gloves and his ass Margarito. He never lays down for no one and keeps giving it his all till nothing is left. Whoever calls him a quitter is a fool that doesn't know boxing.

If Cotto is a quitter, how come he didn't quit against Pac?

I find it funny how most of the people claiming Cotto was "running" against Pac and Clottey are avid Floyd fans.

Also Cotto would have finished the fight and endured another round of punishment against Pac if it hadn't been stopped. He is a warrior for going out and giving a show instead of quiting on his stool. It isn't his fault Pac couldn't KO him. He went out and fought eventhough the outcome had been basically decided. He also could have quit against Clottey after sustaining the cut and walked away with a victory after 4 rounds but insisted he could still fight and see even though it was clear to anyone watching he could barely see out of his left eye. Also after the Margo fight he said he decided to take a knee due in large part to his family and children being ring side and not wanting them to see him continue to take punishment. Take points away from him if you want but the man stood and fought for 11 rounds against a man many fighters avoided even getting in the ring with. Also after the fight Cotto was asked why he didn't hold and tie up Margo and he said he doesn't hold and grab because he is there to provide the fans with an entertaining fight and although holding may have been the best fight tactic it wouldn't have been crowd pleasing so instead he took a beating. It may not have been the smartest thing on his part but he is indeed a warrior for facing everyone and anyone they put in front of him and always going out there looking to please the crowd even if it means taking a beating

Cotto is a fan favorite for sure. Yes he has alot of heart. But his 'warrior spirit' has been grossly overrated. And it started because he was hurt and put in real trouble by fighters who he should've never been hurt by (being an elite fighter). But fighting through all that blood in his mouth against Judah was very telling of the type of heart and toughness he has. His confidence/heart/will HAS been broken though and when he started fighting elite WW's he got smacked with reality and now does what he needs to to survive and win possibly.

@ 140 when he got hurt, he came back and tried to destroy the guy. @ 147 when he gets hurt he tries to box and win by UD.

No disrespect to the guy, but the thread starter has a very valid point. He is overrated in that area.

I mean in the Judah fight, one wear Cotto really became a star and made an impression, Judah was fighting through more damage then Cotto was and the low blow. They were both warriors in that fight, Cotto no more then Judah. Judah then bitched up in the Clottey fight though. Lost respect for him after that fight actually.

margo had concrete in his ass too?:huh

  15. You spittin that bull****. Cotto toughed that **** out while getting pounded in the face with plastered ass bricks. that mu****a was still scrapping in the ring while suffocating on his own blood. do you know what thats like?? no you don't because you have never boxed let alone even stepped in a mu****in ring. He has came back from being blasted early in his fights to fight back and destroy mu****as like zab. If anything you should say that he is not as skilled as some of his die hard fans make him out to be, but he is an epitome of a warrior nonetheless. C'mon Jacory my dude, you can't possible be serious.
