When Smith used his jab he controlled the fight.

But he didn't use it enough and was not aggressive enough when
he had Julio on the run.

Julio's style reminds me of Ossie Ocasio, the Puerto Rican down-sized
heavyweight from back in the late 70's.

I'm sorry but i think you're insane. It wasn't dominant but it was a CLEAR victory for Julio. Come on.

He only started using the jab heavily in the last round, which makes me question his common sense and brain in the ring. Yeah, you could clearly see that he could've easily won the fight had he worked the jab from the start but he didn't. He simply did not do enough.

    spot on.

A bit like the Hopkins-Taylor fights in that one fighter showed he had superior skills at the end of the fight but didn't do enough during the fight.

Very similiar to Hopkins/Taylor but i disagree on one aspect. Hopkins clearly and consistently landed the harder/cleaner shots while Smith did not. That's why, at least for me, it was very easy to score it for Joel. When the less active guy is consistently landing the cleaner/harder shots, then it becomes a bit more complicated. That's when the subjective preference comes in.

what are you on ****ing crack?! Ishe Smith pisses me the **** off because the dude fights so tentatvly in there its ridiculous. If you think he is going to win rounds by pure defense you really need to stop watching boxing. Julio won by a lopsided UD. He was the aggressor, he was pressing the action, and god forbid julio fought like Ishe or we would have had Ishe/Powell all over again. You watch that fight too you ****ing bum?

It is hard to look good against somone whose sole objective is to play defense.

I had Ishe winning. I think these judges need to have a respect for the game. All they want is Gatti-Ward where two guys just sit in the middle of the ring and trade.

Rough day eddie? I don't see how this fight or the outcome merits so much hostility.

Ishe needs to realize that he's good but no Whitaker in there. He did great work with his jab when he remembered to throw it, which was not often enough. He did a great job backing Julio up with power shots, when he remembered to throw them. He didn't do enough of either to win the fight, or for there to be any worth to "robbery" outcries. It was another close fight Ishe dropped thanks to being inconsistent and continuing to rely on his "name" and stock in the game, which is plummeting, to get him the win.

For the record, Teddy's card was horrible, and I scored the Powell fight a draw.

Even though Julio was the aggressor, it was far from effective agression, but when the other fighter is so reluctant to strike back I have to give the fight to Julio

I thought Julio won 6-4, there were a lot of close rounds. I think people who scored it for smith didn't take into account Julio's early body work, His defense and punches scored through the guard. Even if Smith rolled with the right hand to take the impact off it he was still getting touched with it and it scored. I was impressed by Julio's head movement, He avoided a lot of counters.

If you think a fighter can win by having his punches blocked or missed, you have to score for Julio.
Julio was the agressor but was VERY inefective. Julio didn't land one meaningfull punch in the entire fight. Smith landed by far more and the better shots.
Before you tell me I was in crack, you should say which rounds Julio won.
