It's simple really. Of course Golovkin will be on top of the P4P if he KOs Canelo

Who else is there? Ward? Don't make me laugh.

He lost the first fight in the eyes of most and his dad handed him the win in the second fight before the conclusion.

If Crawford moves up and powns a couple top welterweights then you can make a case for him.

Loma still needs to make more noise. He has Salido problems.

Still trying to argue over a fake distinction like P4P. At least you can always tell who the newbies are...they trend to obsess over this stuff still, since they think it means something.

Golovkin will have to beat Ward if he wants to be #1p4p.

Ward already beat a bigger , stronger, harder hitting Golovkin twice.

P4P is about skills, it's not really about who you beat. But you have to perform at a very high level and show high level skills to beat somebody like a Triple G, Canelo, Ward or Kovalev. But saying that Kovalev is simply a bigger stronger harder hitting Golovkin, I personally rate Golovkin as more skilled than Kovalev. Kovalev is bigger possibly hits harder, but what about his punch resistance, particularly to the body?

And Ward struggled mightily in the first fight with Kovalev, he dug down deep and pulled it out, but you have to factor in that performance vs a less skilled guy than Triple G or Canelo. P4P inherently takes weight and being bigger so to speak out of the equation, it's about skills, but I think we can agree that you should get a boost by beating proven high level champions of a division. We're gonna have to really look at Canelo vs Triple G and take a look at the skills that both fighters utlize in this fight and try and visualize their skills based on their performance and compare it to Andre Ward. All of it comes down to personal prefernece, but I don't think there are the sort of limits that are being brought up about a fighter can't be P4P #1 or whatever. There's really no limits to who can be P4P #1, and generally when you are involved in a fight like Canelo vs Triple G, the winner of that fight has earned the right to be in that conversation by taking on such competition, so we as fans shouldn't be limiting how far the winner of that fight can go because it's the biggest fight in boxing and the fight that everyone's been wanting to see. (even bigger than Ward vs Kovalev) We should give Canelo and Triple G a fair shake at P4P #1 and let it be a debate.

And I don't judge based on "L". All things considered, I think Loma's "L" over Solido was more impressive than Ward's "W"'s over Kovalev.

Walters, Sosa, and Martinez are certainly in teh same ball park as Barrera, get real.

Who guys? There is only me and at the time the fight was announced I made no arguments for the winner being #1...just like in this thread, where I'm not ready to crown GGG #1 for simply winning against Canelo.

I don't care about other people's rating systems.

This ****head spent 4 YEARS shitting on Kov and calling him Tomato KAN krusher, saying he's beaten noone of note, ducked Stevenson and now he has the balls(pun intended) to say beating Kov propels Ward to #1 P4P lmao :loel:

It's the same with Carl Froch. These guys spent years trashing Froch, until he lost to Ward. Now he's Ward's ticket to all time greatness.

Pavlik, Froch, Kessler and now Kov are all 'white boys' they can't talk **** about now because it diminishes the wins of their heroes, I see the pattern here :risas3:

Notice how uptight THEY get when the subjects of Loma, GGG, Usyk, Gvozdyk, Beterbiev and Calzaghe come up? :D Just to name a few. Lol! It's hilarious.
