Agree with BD24. Mike looked unbeatable that fateful night and I don't think he would ever of lost again in his career, he was always improving. He walked right through Eubanks best shots that night and totally dominated him with blistering clusters of combinations in which he put everything into every punch for 11 rounds straight, throwing about 700+. Ward won't keep him off. Eubank had faster feet than Ward and Watson closed him down constantly. Nothing Andre can do with him.

Fact is Watson dominated a strong Eubank better than Jones dominated a sick Toney or Calzaghe dominated a **** Lacy. He was a future all-timer if not for the injury.

If it wasn't for McCallum and Eubank having the two best chins in boxing, Watson would of Kayo'd them both many times over with that timed stiff overarm right. He'd take Andre with it..

if eubank is at least close to elite, then Watson by default is, since he beat the man really.

He didn't just beat the man, he battered him from pillar to post in arguably the best performance I've seen in a ring.

Watson was a quality operator in his day and somewhat underrated imo. Damn shame what happened to him.

He was a very good fighter.

Okay, he got dominated by Mike McCallum. McCallum was a great fighter.

Watson took Benn to school, beat Eubank in the first fight (regardless of what 3 blind judges said). He fought extremely well in the tragic loss to Eubank.

Watson had a good defense, pretty quick hands, solid technically, decent power. He wasn't "dynamic", and lacked a certain something to reach the "great" level, but he was very good.

Huh? Dominated by McCallum and beat Eubank in first fight!? You've lost me.

He gave McCallum one of his toughest, closest fights and was completely dominated by Eubank in their first bout.

The McCallum fight wasn't all that close to be honest, Watson won maybe 2 or 3 rounds before he got qorn down and stopped. He did no better than say Steve Collins against McCallum, who fought him around the same time as Watson did, and Collins actually went the distance with the bodysnatcher.

    Watson isn't in Wards class.
Don Lee? Im not even going to comment on that.
Watson was a soild pro and very skilled-world class but he wasn't elite and was never going to be and theres nothing wrong with that.
Mccallum fight wasn't close and don't say it was-Watson got dominated by a great fighter-nothing to be embarrased about but that showed that while Watson was a good pro he wasn't in a Mccallums/Nunn/Kalambays class.
