wow he was cought by sanders...

but aside from that, pre manny he was a beast...

people say he cant fight on the inside... back THEN? he COULD fight and MAULED people inside (watch the monte barret fight... hes almost street in his brutalness)

To me.... the only thing he does differant is.... he clinches and jabs a lot more.

The thing i might see is that this style will allow him to survive and beat people he might not otherwise... but i dont know...

im happy he won but damnit wlad scares me every time he fights.... i dont think he should have had the tough time he did against thompson, but i do think its because thompson is a tall SOUTHPAW... i really think that the southpaw stance bothers wlad

anyways... .im not downplaying manny, and hes added to wlad a bit in surviving and also conserving energy, but i feel wlad was much more imposing pre manny

that being said... way to go Wlad :good :good :good

I agree with you. Pre-Manny Wlad was my favorite fighter, aside from Kostya Tszyu. Post-Manny Wlad, I want to see beaten by Povetkin.

He definitely seemed more fluid and threw more combinations 5 or so years ago.

He was a more fan friendly fighter pre-Manny but not a better fighter. Had Wlad keep up with what he was doing he would likely be out of boxing now with about 5 or 6 ko loses on his record. He didnt have the chin to fight the way that he was.

I dont think that he is a bum, he is a very skilled and talented fighter. But he is scary, and fights scared alot of times. I think that hit it right on the head when they said Wlad was comfortable because Thompson couldnt hurt him, and that is the reason that he fought so brave tonight.

Exactly he's a ****ing *****, Wlad has no warrior capabilities, he got off the canvas to beat peter so ****ing what?! Peter was an extremely inferior fighter. Wlad is a bum, a ****ing heartless ****, Problem is he's the most talented bum in a pool of bums. I'm not sure if he will but if Haye carries his power to heavyweight and proves durable, i sincerely hope he saves us from this bum.

I agree 100%. I just wish somebody would come along and KO this boring mother****er....I'd rather watch flys **** than a VK title defense. He's so f'n scared to get hit.....I'm actually thinking Haye has a good chance of beating VK. I wish Vitali was still fighting cause he was so much better to watch.

That's definitely true. I think people are confusing "better" with "exciting". Wlad appeared to be more explosive pre-manny, but he has definitely improved leaps and bounds in his strategy. Plus he still produces some great kos. He stuck to his gameplan today and produced a late round ko when it appeared he was getting gassed in the middle rounds.

    1996-2003 Wladimir
    2003-2008 - Waldo

Two different guys. Wladimir died the night Sanders, a 13-1 dog, upset.

    Spot on.

Pre Manny he was a lot better to watch. He has always had a look of total shock when he comes under pressure and this, in my opinion, has gotten worse.

In the current climate he is more likely to win fights but they will be boring, with a lot of mauling and somewhat repetitive.

Last night I thought Klitschko's performence was terrible.

After watching Peter-McCline I think Klit(pre manny) and Peter would be 50-50... But he's settled down and turned into a complete fighter and not just an offensive fighter... Maybe he needs Freddy Roach.. Freddy took an offensive entertaining fighter and turned him into a more complete entertainining fighter... I like both wlads...

Yep. Manny Steward really turned him into another Johnny Ruiz. It is so pathetic to watch him fight. Pre-Steward he was one of the most exciting fighter.
