the writing is on the wall..

except Marquez will not be getting up this time. I am rooting for JMM for this fight. He'll be a serious underdog and I have always rooted for the underdog.

The most his fans can ask for is for him to give it his all. Past his best weight, years past his physical prime, the man will give his all, and win, lose, draw, die...the fans will remember what he did to Pacquiao those other two times as well, and everything else he's given to the sport. If this is his last hurrah, then let him give us a great show. We can expect nothing less and will not mourn the passing of a warrior's career in the ring if it comes to pass so brutally.

I still don't understand why JMM kept going down. He didn't look hurt one single time and the last knockdown looks more like he just got caught in the ropes.

He was going backwards on each of those knockdowns.

I am one of those few people to say that I witnessed that fight live..for 50 bucks walk in.

    I got my money's worth.

Yeah, it will be an older, slower JMM vs a bigger, stronger and more technically sound (the ability to use both hands now) Pac. I don't think the fight will last very long.

man, I probably wouldn't be posting on this website if a cousin of mine just said in March 2004

"Look there's this filipino fighter in town, why don't you come and meet us. You should be able to get in pretty easily."

    the rest is f'n history.

Then, you know, I mention Manny Pacquiao to some UNLV alumnni fans and they're like, "dude, we've been watching boxing since we were kids. Saw Freddie Roach fight a dozen times at the old Showboat Casino. Such and such works at the NSAC. Which turns into, "yo, I got a couple of free tix."

Its funny how being a huge fan of Manny can do for you.

Marquez gave a rational and perfect explanation for those three knockdowns.

First off you have to remember that Marquez gets in the line of fire to get those couterpunching opportunities.
He's not afraid to be in that line a fire, even against a huge puncher like Pacquiao.

Having said that, you must also take into account that this was the very first round that Marquez ever boxed against Pac........

On getting repeatedly knocked down in that first round Marquez said, "I misjudged and misguadged how quicklly Pacquiao could close distance with a single leap in to throw and land that left of his."

From the distance Pacquiao was in to step in to throw that left, Marquez did'nt think Pacquiao could close that distance with a single step, and do it so quickly.
    The result were 3 knockdowns.

What the ******* refuses to acknowleadge is that having now read and guaged how quickly Pacquiao could close distance, for the next 23 rounds that they fought, Marquez went down once.......and actually that one time in the rematch was the only time during the 4 total knockdowns that Marquez was legitamately hurt.

The last knockdown in the rematch was a case or both fighters unleaching and Pacquiao's shot landing first.
More of a case of Marquez not seeing the punch coming.
A legitamate knockdown, the only one in their 24 rounds Marquez was legitamately hurt.

......the first three in the first round ever fought, was a case where Marquez saw each of the punches traveling his way, but in his mind believing the shots were not going to reach him.

You throw out the first round they ever fought, and Marquez has only gone down once vs Pacquiao in 23 rounds........yet many folks paint is as if Marquez has been going down often and consistently throughout their fights.

The reality is that for a counterpuncher like Marquez who gets in the eye of the storm to create counterpunching opportunities. To go down once in 23 rounds vs Pacquiao is not too shabby.

How you knock a guy down 3 times and only get a draw? You are already 3 point ahead?

Its like starting a football game with a 3 touchdown lead lol.

Teams from Michigan seem to do that a lot.

The fight is going to end in a horrible knockout for Marquez.

the fights itself show the greatness of both fighters. Marquez is too old at this point.

    Hope he does well Tomorrow.
