Well, I am probably among the very few thinking Marquez has the same chances he had back then when he gave Manny hell in their second encounter. I can definitely see Juan Manuel equally matching Manny but I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls it off this time.
I had Pacquiao winning their close first fight. Second one being a draw.
If Marquez wins, you can expect a fourth match right away.

Floyd can get the hell out of the picture for good.

Marquez needs the KO plain and simple.......

With Mayweather already talking he's ready for Pac to be next after his fight with Ortiz, there is absolutely no way Marquez will get a decision as long as Pacquiao even as much as makes it semi-competive (which is a given)

Marquez needs a KO and I believe Marquez himself knows it.
I expect if the opportunity is there in the late rounds where Pac has been castigated some in the fight, Marquez is'nt going to risk the fight going to the cards, he will go for it!:boxer

Don't see the KO happening. Marquez schooled emmanuel well but never came close to scoring the KO. Marquez has declined physically with age, and emmanuel has improved. He never came close to KO'ing emmanuel when the scales were more even, so I don't see why he could now.

older slower Marquez fighting at a weight that hje's proven to not be effective at vs a bigger more powerful and better overall Manny. Manny's gonna annihilate him and anything less than a KO or shutout UD would be an embarassment

Last time was a split decision victory, I can see a decision victory for JMM here. But at welterweight I just don't see him getting the KO. At the very best, on their previous meetings, Marquez rocked Manny some times but was never close to stopping him. I don't even see anyone in the world that could do it.
But I do see your point, boxing business definitely needs Pacquiao-Mayweather for the hypothetical 100M$+ revenue that would generate a fight of this magnitude. I do want to see this fight too. But not at the price of some robbery like we saw countless of time in the past.

i hate to say it but i see old juan getting his anus handed to him on a dish in this one......along with a glass of chilled urine.
wish he didn't pursue this rubber match so fiercely, there's at least 3 great fights at 135 he could take (and win) and go out on top of his game...instead he's going to get a career-stopping hiding off pacquiao and we will likely never see him box again. which is obviously a shame.

yeah i'd love that to happen. pac hasn't been buzzed for yonks though. i mean morales didn't properly buzz him, marquez didn't.... i can't think of anyone that has actually hurt pac (never mind dropped him) since his losses way back when. the only blip was the slight buckle he did when margarito hit him in the body but apart from that.........?

Marquez hurt him with a left hook early in their 2nd fight. Believe it was the end of the 3rd round.

    Pacquiao will win.
the question is by KO or wide decision?
Marquez won't run. He will fight hard.
Pac will go for the kill.
I believe Roach that Pac had a hard time making weight in the 2nd fight. He was a little off his game.
I expect Pacquiao's power to be unbearable for Marquez at 143/144.
I think Marquez will be trying to knock out Pacquiao. Just to hurt him is a victory of sorts.
Roach will be sending Pac in there for a knock out. No more decisions. Even if Marquez gets hurt, which he will, he won't back down very much.
So I think this means Pac by KO sooner or later. The question then becomes when?
I think four rounds. Pac by KO round 4.
A blistering pace will be set. Marquez won't have much of a chance to get started. Think of the early part of Marquez / Juan Diaz 1 except this time its eight pounds North (and Marquez is even older and he was an older fighter then) against fifty times the fighter the baby cow was on his best day.

Pac will be able to take Marquez's punches, the power differential is going to be ridiculous at this weight. Pac will have a clear speed advantage and will be able to absorb shots better than Marquez at this weight.

If Marquez wasn't the incredible warrior that he is, he could go out there and shuck and jive like Roidsley. But Homey Don't Play That.

There will be no excessive glove touching or running. Marquez is going to try and kill Pacquaio and his fans would expect nothing less.

And when he gets smashed up Nacho will simply tell him to go out there and knock Pac out immediately.

    Pac KO 4.

The only chance JMM has of a KO victory is on cuts. Not impossible, but certainly improbable.

agreed. we all saw how slow marquez looked at that weight against mayweather. he had no chance whatsoever. this is going to be basically the same thing, except pac is going to be coming after him hard and throwing a shitload of punches. it might be hard to watch.

The fact that Pacquiao is going to be bringing it is exactly what the counterpunching Marquez wants.

Mayweather was quicker and faster, and if he's that and sitting in the pocket and either moving away or smuthering Marquez everytime he threw punches, thats not giving the counterpunching Marquez many opportunities.

There was a point in the Marquez-Mayweather fight where Marquez signalled to Mayweather to bring it.
Mayweather had just stunned Marquez with some nice shots and got out, Marquez at that point gestured to Mayweather to bring it, but of course Mayweather being safety first concsious did'nt oblige.

Pacquiao will take the fight to Marquez, Marquez will not look slow because the aggression by Pacquiao will give him the countering opportunities that he needs.

Against Mayweather, Marquez never got into a rhythm because the target was never there.
.....believe me, Pacquiao will be a target!:bbb

Mayweather's defensive style can make a fighter with better than average speed look to be mollases slow.
......all I'm saying is that if you think Marquez is going to be made to look as slow as he seemed vs Mayweather, you're sadly mistaken.

Go take a relook at Marquez-Mayweather and you'll see that Marquez actually is'nt as slow as you initially thought he was.........that fact is he seemed slow because Mayweather never allowed him to get off.
......to quick, to fast, to strong, and most importantly, too defensive.

This fight is a fifty fifty proposition. Pac won a majority of his latest fights because he was underestimated and unprepared for. Marquez is under no such illusion and he will be ready.
