I think there is still intrigue in this fight, but in handicapping a fight you have to account for intangibles. Was this last fight with Pacquiao vs JMM enough to rule out the possibility of a Pacquiao victory versus Floyd. Pacquiao does seem to have problems with boxers and a speedier Mayweather is a master boxer. The likes of which Manny has never faced, but here are a few things that make me hesitant to bet.

1.JMM throws combinations, most times when JMM countered, he answered back with multiple shots. Mayweather does not do this. He picks his shots.

2.Speed, Pacquiao still has one of the fastest sets of hands. Mayweather is troubled by speed atleast early.

    3. Heart, not to say that Mayweather has less of it, as I do not believe that to be the case at all. Manny will go into this fight with a huge chip on his shoulder. With Mayweather's 1's and 2's, Manny may attack relentlessly showing no respect for Mayweather's power. That JMM fight (which I believe could have gone either way or draw), may have been a big wake up call for Manny.

Of course on paper Mayweather wins this, but I still think that the JMM fight does not answer all the questions about what will be needed for a sure Mayweather win.

The only way Manny beats Floyd is by a lucky punch he don't see coming, and Floyd having one of the best the defenses ever along with his ATG great chin, Manny doesn't really have a shot. After SM and JMM I question if Manny still has the heart for boxing thats needed at an elite level, not to mention his speed and stamina has greatly greatly depleted, but doesn't seemed to get mentioned here

The one thing I noticed though is that when Floyd fight Southpaws he tends duck under the punches, Floyd could duck right into a right hook, or an flailing uppercut Manny throw, that could change the fight. But as of right now Manny needs to worry about exorcising the JMM demon, if slow bulky, no power Marquez was able to hit him at will and have him flying across the ring, what would Floyd do who twice as fast and accurate as Marquez, bigger, longer reach, and has a true WW punch

The combination punching is irrelevant. Floyd is very accurate.

Some of the biggest factors in the fight IMO. He will be frustrated, lose his head in there, and be picked apart worse.

Those are valid points and you're right, the fight with JMM should not guarantee a loss for Pac if he fights Mayweather. I take an issue with point #1 though. Many people are saying combination punches are the only way to score points. I highly disagree. Many of Juan's landed punches on Pac came off 1-2 combo punches. Juan actually threw limited combo punches in the 3rd fight as opposed to the previous ones where he would fire off 4,5, possibly 6 shots per attack. Less shots per combo was a way to limit the chance of getting caught by a knockdown punch. A BIG myth people seem to ride on is Juan's style is the only one that is effective when fighting Pac. That's completely not true. Morales doesn't fight like JMM yet Erik still managed to outbox Pac in their 1st fight. Cotto also outboxed Pac for 1 or 2 rounds. Superior boxing skills is the key. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

Just remember: Benitez the defensive master outboxed Duran so easy like 13-2. Duran destroyed Davey Moore so easy in a few rounds, completely outboxing and destroying him. Davey Moore turned right around and KOed Benitez in two, easy work. Styles make fights. blah blah blah Benitez was shot at the time right after he beat Duran so easy, he clearly wasn't. Pac has a chance against Floyd, it's just clear that MOVEMENT does trouble him. Staying in the pocket with Pac is a really really bad idea. JMM NEVER takes one step forward when he fights Pac because he knows.

JMM's style will always be a problem for Pac, maybe he will be able to land on Floyd just because of the way the angles and offense works. Pac can't perfectly mimic JMM's natural style: he has his own style that Pac may or may not match up against well.
