i usually disagree with what eze says. but this is how i see it too (esp. when he instinctively put his hands against his face then decided to lay flat). it's definitely a DQ, but the acting kinda cheapened it a little IMO.
Low opinion. I picked Dirrell to win the fight. Second time I saw him fight though. He was clearly ahead, starting to get caught. Smart move. Exaggerated a bit is all.
That's completely fine. I'm not calling you ignorant because you see it differently. That's your opinion. I am merely expressing mine. It's not like I posted a factual article that proves my point. I merely FEEL one way, you and do the other. It's amazing how name calling is thrown out when you disagree.
I'm not ignoring you, let me find it. Im trying to keep up with a lot of post. Give me a moment. :good
Found it. First time I actually saw this but it's quite clear that Taylor's body had gone STIFF. Which happens a lot in boxing. Look at Roy Jones vs Johnson, his leg is stretched out straight about a foot off the ground. Also I believe his arm was stiff as well. Taylor was completely out of it. I dont believe Dirrell was.
But if you truly believe Andre Dirrell to have faked a serious injury for the sake of 4 minutes of Boxing then you mustn't think he has any moral fibre. ...Which is to say, you can't possibly have a high opinion of the man?
im a person of color and from the states...and i thought he faked it. abe was comin on strong and he knocked down direll, but it was called a slip. even antonio tarver, 1 of commentators, stated that direll was on his bike. it was a dirty punch, yes....but after the punch, direll wasnt ko'ed. he got hit, looked up at ref, then went down. if its a true knock out punch, the punchee goes lights out immediately after the punch lands.
Lemme get this straight... Nate Campbell jumping around the ring screaming like a Banshee because of a headbutt then saying I CANT SEE I CANT SEE (which is a pretty common excuse for not wanting to fight and pretty much always entails a doctor's intervention)=not faking it and... Andre Dirrell being hit flush on the chin while he wasn't prepared by one of the sports hardest punchers and laying out trembling=faking it gotcha
I think it was a smart move. You are winning, the DQ is clearly justified, the punch was WAY late. You are starting to get tagged more than before. You were down once (despite the ref calling it a slip) Free win. Dirrell pulled a smart move. He knows that AA has pulled some miraculous **** before.
Well let's compare. Campbell was hit with a headbutt that made him lose sight but he was all there. Dirrell was hit with a punch that didn't hit him cleanly, then we watched him lean against the ropes, then cover himself up, then proceed to act as if he was completely out.
