Oscar was clearly more important for the big numbers in the Mayweather vs oscar Delahoya fight, but many act as if Floyd made no difference to the numbers despite the fact Oscar Delahoya has fought many top fighter who were big names and his biggest sell in PPVs were against Floyd.

Floyd is a character. You don't get many of those. I think Broner might be lucky to get half of what Mayweather gets. Broner might be similar but no where near Mayweather persona nor the skill level he possesses.

FFS sake, the record belongs to both of them.

DLH was the bigger/biggest draw at the time, Floyd was a superb B-side, and neither fighter got anywhere near that figure before or after.

if you read my posts you will see I think he is one of the greatest fighters of all time and in my mind a legit top 5 ATG with beating Duran,Hearns,Benitez,Hagler. What I mentioned was about how he got his 2 titles in one fight against Lalonde. After beating Hagler he did the catchweight stuff. Anyone can get titles like Leonard or Pacman lately if they make catchweights and weaken guys and do not fight at a weight where the title is intended to be fought at. Pacman and Ray are both legit greats, but the catchweight stuff was nonsense. That was my point. They are great regardless and didn't need that. They would have always had titles anyway. Ray would have ended up with 3 titles and Pacman with 4. Not bad. Duran and Hearns won their titles at the actual weights, which you have to give them credit for. Hearns won his two 175 pound titles against legit champs at the weight limit.

 

all this talk about ppv numbers, who ducks who, what the spilt should be, some of you ****s don't know the first thing about the boxing technicalities.
