Man you guys throw the word SHOT in everything after somebody wins to bring somebody down or define your dumb A$$ with your sorry pick!

First off i dont give a damn if Martinez had to good knees, he still gets dominated like no other! Didnt have 2 good knees and got dropped 5 of his last 6 fights?? anybody think about that??

Martinez HAS NEVER EVER KEPT HIS HANDS UP IN A FIGHT!! So when i bet Cotto by KO everybody called me stuip, dummy, dont know boxing etc etc but Martinez has ZERO DEFENSE!!

Then i Mention How Martinez has never fought anybody with Cotto's skill level at all and I got "Who cares, Cotto is a midget, Martinez KO's him out easy" so bascially SKILLS dont mean anything in boxing????:lol::lol::lol:

His knee was BARELY a factor in that fight. He thought Cotto couldnt hurt him, thats one of the biggest things that happened in the fight. Looked like he didnt work defending the left hook (oh yeah he keeps his hands down, HTF was he supposed to block that) He just was not ready and thats what he gets for messing with an ATG and taking him lightly

PPL need to give Cotto the respect, dude is a true beast and i dont see many ppl beating him out there right now. Everybody loves to throw shot shot shot shot out there after somebody wins but dont have the damn ***** to ride with there pick or put some money with there mouth's are.

Cotto is a G and Roach has made him better then ever! and if you think a trainer can make somebody better then you really DKSAB! :bbb:bbb:bbb

shot after? sorry but i thought the general consensus on the forums was "martinez got this aslong as his healthy" the martinez that rocked up to the fight was clearly a shadow of his former self. thats why i cant wait for cotto v canelo

these fanboys are going to see cotto dont belong at 160, hell you could argue he dont belong at 154

You are correct, there is video evidence that the knee is actually no excuse at all whatsoever. In the "cerebrality of Cotto" video it shows that the major blows that Cotto hit Sergio with in the first leading to his eventual demise had nothing to do with an inability for Sergio to evade. As, Sergio was actually throwing a punch both times when he were majorly rocked. It had absolutely nothing to do with knees and everything to with Sergio's ill fated miscalculations in combination with Cotto's skill. Hater's are welcome to cry all they want, it's what they do best anyway.

Can't really speak on Martinez health.

But I truly believe this Cotto is better than he's been before. His stamina looks better, strength better, durability. This is an old school coach that teaches offense. Cotto never been chinny, sure he's been caught, but always worked through it.

It was always his durability and more recently he lost his ferocity and body attack which he was always known for. His next fight will be big and should answer any doubts..

Well he did look like a 39 year old athlete. Compare that Martinez to the one in 2012 and you can see the obvious difference.
Its similar to De La Hoya from Mayweather vs that of Pacquiao but not as severe.

Only I won a few ban bets with this one. I know Martinez was ready to go, and cotto got the speed and deliverance to do it. Murray, Macklin Chavez jr are just natural middleweights, or super middleweights, and the speed and athlieticim of Martinez meant he outboxed em, but there were signs he could go. And cotto knows how to deliver that left hook better than those 3 middleweights. He's an elite fighter, the others not.

Thats a bad comparsion. DLH was weight drained! he still wasnt going to win the fight but thats a huge difference.

Martinez has been getting dropped for years to fighters not on Cotto's level and thats why I made thousands that night :good

yep! now i see most dont give him a shot against a prime Canelo but we shall see. I think Cotto will box that A$$ off and that will leave no doubt Cotto has gotten a ton better with Roach

He was shot before, but no one realized how shot he was, I was starting to get a sinking feeling while watching 24/7, you could tell Sergio wasn't that confident, healthy Martinez rips Cotto to pieces, and anyone who doesn't think that's the case are fooling themselves. You are all lying to yourselves if you really believe that Cotto's victory was legit. You all so want to believe Cotto is back but Sorry he's not, and you'll see that the next time he fights.

****... I think a pre Roach Cotto was a even shot with Canelo. I think Cotto now simply outclasses Canelo...

But I do think whatever Martinez had left, Cotto stole that night. A good fighter on the slide can last a long time against mediocre competition, or even slower paced boxer types. What Cotto and roach did was take everything from Martinez reserve early, they ate the meat and left the bones. Martinez bones weren't strong enough to fight the physical fight that Cotto was ready for..
